"This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Troy and all around for Italian food. I have been eating here for years and I have never been disappointed. Carm makes some of the best Italian dishes in the area and I can't imagine eating Italian food anywhere else. While working at Samaritan hospital during COVID, this establishment delivered countless trays of food to all of the different med surge floors throughout the hospital at no cost to hospital personnel. So if you're looking for a delicious meal at a wonderful price, this is the spot!"
"This is more than just one of the best Italian restaurants in Troy. It is one of the best Italian restaurants ever. The food is simply outstanding, and always piping hot. It is a hometown restaurant, with tons of history, and they always make you feel like family."
"We were visiting friends who live in Troy and they wanted us to go to their favorite Italian restaurant in Troy, Lo Porto. Maybe it's because they didn't grow up with authentic Italian food, maybe they have never tasted good extra virgin olive oil, not sure, but sorry, good Italian food is not to be found here. Good service, friendly service, huge portions, yes! But flavor was lacking, dishes swimming in salt, cheese or tasteless sauce. The bread was mediocre, served with butter and not olive oil which was curious to me, this being Italian. I did request a little dish of olive oil. What I got was a product far removed from the originating olive (i.e. this was not first cold pressing, but more like a fourth extraction - tasteless, with not a hint of olive flavor). When we visit the next time I will insist on cooking them a meal. I will not be able to tell them how I feel about Lo Porto."
"Amazing food, served piping hot. Chicken Champagne was thin sliced and dressed in a beautiful creme sauce. Sea food fra diavlo was equally delicious with so much sea food we took half home. They had a limited menu for new year's and the prices varied from the regular menu. I think our waiter was John and he was busy taking good care of the dinner rush."
