"My wife and I moved to WEY in October of 2021. From the time we moved in to our departure in August of 2023, Samantha and her team have been great hosts. The payment portal is easy to use and provides other useful information. The property is well looked after by Carlos and his team. If you are a fitness buff, the gym is well maintained and has plenty of up to date equipment. The walk downtown is only 20 minutes, and now there are restaurant options right next door. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there."

"My first post was deleted for some reason. This build is a complete disaster. The management and holding company should be ashamed of themselves. This building has dangerous residents who have been charged with various crimes against women and others. The management team knows about the problems and has done NOTHING. 15 or so residents have all expressed concern and the management sits idly by. It is only a matter of time until someone gets hurt. Anyone looking to live in Portsmouth, avoid this building at all costs. It is run by trash humans who have no regard for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They will lie to you and pretend it is a great place to live. Half of residents are looking to get out of their lease. I see major lawsuits coming in the future for this building..."

"My husband and I moved into West End Yards the first day they opened, and we lived there for a year before buying a house. The pricing is high, but it’s in line with the rest of Portsmouth’s new apartment communities. You do get what you pay for though – see bottom of review for our monthly savings. We always felt safe with the secure key-fob entry system into the buildings. We have dogs, so the fenced-in dog-run area was incredibly convenient and gave them a place to socialize so we didn’t have to take them to a doggy daycare. They even have a dog wash in the building! The gym is full of expensive high-quality equipment and saved us the fee of a gym membership. I work remotely, and there are workspaces (with doors!) all over the complex – again saved us the cost of renting a co-working space. The common areas are actually inviting, and there’s an awesome coffee/cappuccino machine in the shared kitchenette – no need for spending $$ at Starbucks. The package center is convenient and easy to use. They installed EV charging stations while we were there. Our 1-bedroom unit was 725 sq ft, first floor with a patio. There is not a lot of storage space, but they offer storage closets if needed just down the hall. High quality appliances, and a clean minimalist design (kind of reminds you of IKEA). The grills, firepit, hammocks, and rooftop patio were great perks. The staff was always responsive, and the maintenance team is fantastic. We knew we’d only be there for a year while we searched for a house, and when we calculated the money we’d save on gym ($75 a month for each of us = $150/month), co-working space ($300/month), doggy daycare ($300 a month), daily coffee for two ($200 a month) it came to a substantial savings of $950 a month for us. So if you utilize the amenities the high rent makes sense. It’s a good walk to downtown – about a mile down Islington, but there are a lot of closer options in the West End for restaurants and groceries. We’d recommend West End Yards as there weren’t many negatives for us. Only ones I can think of were the 8AM vehicle removal the day after snow so they could plow (which we just used as an excuse to go get breakfast because they were done after an hour or two), and their proposed monthly $500 rent increase on our lease renewal (which we didn’t sign because we’d found a house)."
