"Petronilla hooked me up! I went in on a Saturday for a wash, blow out and trim. I was fortunate to get a same day appointment. Petronilla was very gentle with my hair and utilized high quality products in my hair. I asked her to reduce the amount of heat on the blow dryer because my hair gets heat damaged easily and she was respected my wishes. The trim was perfect and framed my face well. She also used the flat iron to give my hair a nice bump and applied extra heat protection for that. The salon is beautiful, clean and airy. I will definitely return!"

"I am new to Beverly, MA. There are no black or Dominican Salons that I could find. Someone told me go to Union Street so I googled it and found Jay's Beauty Salon. I called because new town, new culture. In NYC, Dominican salons do only walk-ins. Not here. I made an appointment and I was set. For a Saturday appointment, I was ready to spend the whole day here because that is what I have always experienced but NOPE. I walked right into a chair with my stylist, Petronila. Don't steal my stylist but she is AWESOME. But as I look around, I think I would have been fine with anyone here. Everyone speaks English here, which wasn't the case in NYC all my years getting my hair done. For me, this makes my experience more personal. In NYC, Dominican Salons are like immersing in a culture. I am polite and learn the rules. But there isn't anything to learn here. It's just easy. My hair is washed, my scalp is so clean! It feels great. The shampoo chair is a recliner. I love recliners! I try to keep from falling asleep. When I get a deep conditioner, they place me under a steamer! This is a game changer. I believe using a steamer at home during the pandemic added the moisture that made my hair grow inches. This is a first for me in a salon. And of course I got my hair roller set and under the dryer. I am going to cut to the chase. My hair looks FABULOUS when I left. UPDATE: I have gone back weekly for a while now and this is my salon! I went natural so I could get coloring, balayage to be exact. Maybe I will now."

"Best color and haircut in a long time for me. She was sweet, kind and she was a blessing to me as this was a special gift and day for myself and my daughter whose almost 2yrs old and got her 1st haircut that day after Mommy was finished. They also gave my friends 11yr old daughter whose being bullied by boys at school a gorgeous haircut and made her feel like she was gorgeous as she truly is. My new hairdresser told her that she is beautiful inside and out and made her feel as such. These wómen are amazing and I wish I knew about their salon years ago. My hair looks the best it has in years and to a new momma and newly ENGAGED woman this day of beauty and feeling a million bucks was worth every penny my husband to be said he has ever spent on his 2 girls.
