"I was in need of comprehensive dental work, moving to Massachusetts, I now had the ability to get root canals and crowns. I had gone to two other dentists prior to this dentist and was not real happy with those prior ones. As soon as I had my first appointment with this dentist, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be, very professional, very thorough, very comprehensive. This is exactly what I had not found with the first two dentists, not even close, so this is the one I’m sticking with. In fact in my 60 years of life, I think I have been the most impressed with this dentist and I’m not easy to please, I like the best. Hence why it took two other dentists before I found this one. This is an amazingly brilliant and talented dentist with a top notch staff…… I lucked out big time finding this dentist and being able to have her do all this work."

"My last appointment was my extensive appointment done every three years where they do full mouth x-rays to check the integrity of your teeth and bones . I was told by the doctor that there was some decay under the gums at bone level on my lower front teeth where I have some crowding/shifting. Needless to say, I was very concerned. We started talking about options, and I was given very confusing information and was actually told “there is no good option to treat it”. I was being told that since my teeth are small, it would be in my best interest not to try to fill a cavity in that area because my tooth would break and also that since it was under the gumline at bone level a filling would not adhere properly in that area and would come loose and open my tooth too more decay or infection. I was also told since I have small teeth and crowding, that an implant probably wouldn’t fit and I may need to remove more than one tooth or try to close the gap and only have three bottom front teeth. At some point, Invisalign was suggested to work on the crowding so that the area would be more easily accessible… I can agree that none of those are good options. However, I refuse to believe that those would have been my only options, if that was truly the circumstance. The doctor then decided to take another x-ray. When she looked at that x-ray, She mentioned that it looked different than the first one. She started to become, what seemed to me, as slightly less concerned. She was still confused with no definite ideas or information. She then suggested that it could be the shape of my teeth- that they could be concave under the gums, casting a shadow on the x-ray. I was given a script for prescription fluoride toothpaste and told wait 4 to 6 months to come in for more x-rays and if it was truly decay, it would have gotten worse. If it was the shape of my teeth, it would stay the same. As someone who does not want to lose their teeth, that did not sit well with me. I did not want to sit around and wait to see if my teeth possibly decayed more to the point where it’s touching the roots and I could need a root canal or an extraction. I decided I needed to get a second opinion as soon as possible so I made an appointment with another local dentist with the recommendation from a trusted friend. That office did a full mouth scan and also took additional x-ray of that area of suspicion, and found absolutely NO issue. there was no decay and the shape of my teeth are not concave. There was nothing that looked concerning or anything that seemed like it would turn into a problem , they mentioned some thing called a cast (I believe, but could be another name I forgot now) on x-ray, which can create shadow. They mentioned that could possibly be what the other office was seeing. I am of course, relieved that I am not having issues with my teeth but the three weeks between my appointment with Dr. Zhu and this new dentist was extremely stressful. In addition to worrying about keeping the integrity of my teeth, I was concerned about how I was going to pay for all these procedures I would probably need. I am not writing this review out of spite or anger. I’m writing it as a caution to anyone who goes to this office- that what you might be told might not be what is truly going on and that it may be in your best interest to seek a second or third opinion."
