TownePlace Suites by Marriott Westport

"Filthy. This is the message IO sent to the hotel manager, Sophia. No response to date, but have filed a case with Marriott. I am following up on the fact that the room I reserved for 12-30 and 12-31 that had several filth issues. I have been a Marriott member for many, many years and this is NOT in keeping with Marriott standards. 1) It was reserved for two adults as my Christmas gift to them. The Man went home to sleep on 12-30 because your room was so filthy. The woman lives 1.5 hours away so she had no choice but to sleep in the hotel. She slept on top of the sheets. 2) As a result she is checking out today (and will most likely be gone before you read this email). Thus, this has ruined the New Years Eve and Anniversary Celebration this couple was looking forward to. 3) As an overview she reports: Stains and hair on the sheets. Hair on the towels. Pillows smelling like lower body parts, mucus on the shade, a hand towel - fresh off the rack with brown stains. While I know this is subjective, the beds were also very uncomfortable - not at all up to Marriott standards. For $500+. for two nights in Westport, I would expect much more than this. I am sorry but I intend to report this to Marriott. Please refund the entire purchase amount and advise in writing when this is done."

"Great experience. Clean, quiet, and the staff was amazing!! We stayed over Christmas and they even had a little Elf on the Shelf floating around which made my son so happy. The personal touches in the lobby were great. Very happy with my stay here."

"My family stayed one night, so had not experienced all the quality of hospitality, however was quite a pleasant to stay. The most impressive part is dog-friendly hotel that super welcomes my dog from the check-in. The room is the most spacious from all my hotel experience. More importantly is a good size of kitchen equipped with medium size refrigerator, cooking oven, dishwasher, and microwave. Of course plates, bowls, cookware, and utensil are all ready to cook. Amenity includes small indoor pool, gym, snack bar, and bbq place. All building is quite new and well decorated."

"I feel like it could be a lot better. I was only invited as a guest and use to be a senior elite service agent so I thought I knew what to expect. The staff was fine as long as they saw you coming other then that they kinda just lounged around. The room was clean but not perfect as there was dirty hand prints on things. Overall I feel like what was spent was not worthy of the Marriott name."

"Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Seems fairly new and bright. Rooms are spacious, well designed and very clean. Lots of extra towels that are pretty new and thick. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Only improvement is that the breakfast room floor needs to be cleaned better…it was sticky under my shoes."
