"Would give negative stars if possible. I went in there to get my transmission tuned after recently swapping a Cummins into my truck. Called them in advance and spoke to Alex who said it would be no problem to get that done for me. Alex then sold me the tuner and the tuning package. After 6 trips and countless phone calls Alex was not able to even remotely get my truck to shift correctly. The first tune he sent me wasn’t even for my truck and locked up my transmission every time it was placed into drive. Even though he had all the correct information for the trans, from the original download. Each time I would go up there Alex would try tune after tune with very little to zero improvements. After every tune Alex would ask me what I thought was wrong….. Like I was going to tell him what the problem was. I had to explain to him that I am not a tuning guy and that’s why I was hoping he could help me. After the 6th visit I gave up. I tried to be nice and told him that his tunes obviously weren’t working and I would just go somewhere else. I told Alex that I would just keep the tuning device (since it was assigned to the truck) and asked for a refund on the tuning/tunes part of the purchase since I would have to buy it again somewhere else. After explaining my frustration and how many wasted trips I had to take to their shop he agreed that he would refund me the money for the tunes. I thought that was fair and appreciated him doing that for me. Well I wouldn’t be writing this if the story ended there. After a week and still not seeing a refund on my account I called Alex and he assured me that the refund went through and I would be seeing it soon. He even gave me an exact time of when it was sent (0915) that morning. I waited a few days and still nothing. At this point we drove back up to see Alex but he wasn’t there, the owner’s father was there. After explaining the situation to the owner’s father, he looked into their system and stated he did not see any refund issued by Alex. He even showed us on the computer, which we appreciated. At that point, he issued a refund right then and there and it was received the next day. We had three other vehicles we were hoping to get tuned there but we obviously lost interest in doing any further business with them. The owner’s father seemed upset that Alex would lie and didn’t understand why he would say something like that and then not do it. I am not sure why he would lie but wanted to put this out there so someone else doesn’t go through the same problems I did. If Alex would have just told me after one of the many times I went up there that he wasn’t able to tune my truck and I would have to go somewhere else that would have been fine. Alex could have even told me flat out he couldn’t issue a refund for whatever reason. I would have respected that a lot more than him just lying in order to get me off the phone and out of his hair. Not sure what was going through his mind to think I was just going to forget about all the money he said he would refund me. ID speed used to be a good company years ago but It seems the owner has given Alex to much responsibility and people like him will ruin this company’s reputation. Also, the other tuning shop I went literally got the tune right on the first try. Thought I was doing the right thing going local. Clearly, I was mistaken."
