"If you are searching for an OB for your pregnancy or if you are delivering at Christiana Care Union hospital. Do yourself a favor and find another Doctor, Dr. Hawkins is not a very pleasant, respectful or professional Doctor in my opinion. During the birth of my daughter the Nursing staff at Union Hospital warned us that Doctor Hawkins would not respect my wife's wishes and beliefs. In fact Dr. Hawkins never addressed my wife leading to the delivery. Dr. Hawkins never reviewed the consent to deliver form, the first page was not filled out at all. The signature page has a signature that does not look like my wife's and she nor I have any recollection of her signing it. The fact is, we saw the form, asked about it, the nurse said the doctor must review it with you and that never took place. Further Dr. Hawkins sent the placenta to pathology against my wife's beliefs, without permission, consent or legal authority, while staff had been told my wife wanted to keep her placenta. Finally Dr. Hawkins sent a social worker to talk to us, we believe this action was solely retaliatory because my wife had differing opinions and beliefs than Dr. Hawkins."
