"This center has been wonderful with my son. I was a little nervous to leave him, but his teacher was very supportive and encouraged me to call and check on him whenever I needed to. When I was young I used to come to this daycare occasionally, Patt and John Frederick care about the parents and children. I read one review from a parent who was concerned about her being there after their domestic dispute. While it was an unfortunate situation, neither Patt or John would ever put a child in danger and I am comfortable with her being present. They even moved out of their home of over 20 years to allow the daycare to remain operational. While domestic violence is never okay, none of us were there that night to really know what happened. It didn't happen at the daycare or around any children and the children were never in danger. Reach for the Stars was a wonderful place for children when Patt and John were running it and it's a wonderful place now with their grandson Steve as a director. I would highly recommend Reach for the Stars to anyone looking for a center for their children."
"I can't speak more highly about this center. I have two children in RftS and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. The teachers are kind & friendly and truly care about your children. We had a horrible experience at Tendercare in North East (run away from that place as fast as you can!) and RftS welcomed us with open arms and restored my faith in center-based daycare facilities."
"We enjoyed a wonderful 4 years at Reach for the Stars before the prior owners- Patt and John Frederick returned to the center. The Frederick's were involved in a domestic dispute that resulted in Patt shooting John and being charged with attempted murder. She plead down to assault and thus her record was expunged and she can now be a "volunteer" at the center. Parents were given no notice of her return and when we complained they decided that it was Tracy, the director, that complained and fired her. We withdrew our children the same day- we just cannot trust the judement of these people. They may say they are not staff but the letter to the parents stating Tracy was fired came under the signature of Steve- the on paper owner, and the Fredericks (his grandparents). The teachers at this center were wonderful and I hope that they are all able to relocate to other centers/in-home because the new management is not desirable."
