"Unfortunately this healthcare provider is extremely disappointing. It started on Sunday when I called the on call provider for a high temperature in my 3.5 month old and did not receive a call back for over 2 hours. At which point, I had already taken him to urgent care and was sent to the hospital. On Monday, I was contacted to make a follow up appt for Tuesday at 1pm. I arrived 13 minutes late, which I apologized for. I was curtly informed of the policy and told I could return as they had an available appointment in a half hour. At this point, my sick baby was crying, coughing, I informed them I couldn’t do it as my husband was on his lunch break watching the other two kids, she repeated the policy again, I informed them I in fact couldn’t wait due to family obligations and I left. There was absolutely no wiggle room on the staffs behalf at no point did they offer any alternative other than rescheduling for a later time. I would like to add this is Tuesday at 1pm with absolute no one in the office. When my husband returned for the rescheduled appt the following day. He was treated poorly and my ability to care for my children was questioned because I left the office the previous day- because he had to return to work, which I told them! They refused my severely Ill 3 month old care because we were close to 15 minutes late for an appt that was made less than 24 hours ago! Absolutely rude staff, dr allota was terrible unprofessional and rude when returning my phone call and playing the she said she said game defending her secretary’s actions, refusing to apologize for treating us poorly when we have a severely sick infant, (I apologized for being late multiple times) and ultimately choosing to discharge an almost 4 month old with RSV who is due for their 4 month shots, because we were late to a sick appt and didn’t agree with the way things were handled. Extremely poor practice. It is shocking that a healthcare provider would take such poor care in managing an infant with a severe illness and a postpartum mother with 3 children newly back to work. Thankful I was not dependent on their services to diagnosis and assist me in treating my 3 month old with RSV. If you can get into another pediatric practice, I strongly suggest you do so."
