With an extensive waiting list for seasonal sites, Tuckahoe Acres is currently only accepting in-person applications for those interested in purchasing a camper from the Trailers for Sale List. The seasonal camping fee includes off-season storage, with options for boat storage available as well. License agreements, indemnifications, and updated rules and regulations are sent via email, and campers are reminded of important payment deadlines. "This isn't a campground. It's a trailer park that has "rules" written in pencil so they can be changed on a whim. People have had stuff stolen, especially on holiday weekends with a "oh well" attitude. If you're interested in getting in you need to be an alcoholic or smoker...bonus points for both. Modern society needs internet, cable, and cell service for basic function. I get being "unplugged" but if it's not even available it's a major inconvenience. Cornhole, binge drinking, and unsupervised children are the highlights."
"We use to Camp here in the 70's before it was Seasonal sites. I have so many memories as a kid there. They now have all permanent seasonal sites and it is still a great place and the woman we spoke to in the office was so nice to talk to. If your looking to buy a small affordable place at the Beach this is a great option."
"I love coming here to crab and to walk around. But the boards on the pier or horrendous. This morning a piece of wood shut up through my shoe and punctured my left foot. I've complained about the boards before but no one seems to do anything about it. Someone's going to get hurt. You also need to have some signs for people to not let their kids run back and forth and run their hands along the rail. I know that's up to the parents but when the kids run back and forth and they fall and they slip that's could be prevented if there was a simple sign. Also you have to put up a no smoking sign before the pier and on the pier people need to understand it's not a safe place to smoke. It's a beautiful place I've been coming here for a while and crabbing and I really enjoy it everything is clean in the bathrooms and the lawn is very well maintained people are very friendly and I love it there. But the boards on the pier need to get addressed it would be nice. For such a nice area that Pier should not look so warm torn and tacky."
