Founded by Christine Rouse, Acting Without Boundaries offers a variety of programs for individuals of all ages and experience levels. From the AWB Seniors program, where participants work closely as an ensemble to build lasting friendships and self-esteem, to the AWB Junior program, where young actors create musicals based on children's stories, there is something for everyone.
The AWB Acting Lab brings performing arts programs directly to care institutions and partnering organizations, helping participants discover new passions and abilities. The AWB Masters program provides immersive training in various disciplines of the dramatic arts, requiring previous experience in AWB programming.
Through their AWB Melodies program, the institution works to raise awareness of people with physical disabilities through performances and educational outreach. AWB Connects offers a social and interactive program for actors to build community and friendships through virtual and in-person gatherings.
In 2023, Acting Without Boundaries saw over 2,000 audience members at their performances and programs, with the support of 80 dedicated volunteers contributing over 1,700 hours. 158 individuals with physical disabilities participated in AWB's programs, highlighting the impact of their inclusive and empowering approach to the performing arts.
