"Amazing service. Came in for some questions about my Carver Skateboard I purchased from here a while back from Worker Maddie (also an amazing experience). Worker Bronson was quick to assist me and answer any questions I had regarding my board, or anything that peaked my interest; for example the skim boards along the window display. South End has an array of items like surfboards, skateboards, hats, clothing, wetsuits, etc."

"Absolutely terrible experience here today!!! Would love to give them zero stars if it was possible. My 16 year old son went to this surf shop to inquire about renting a surf board and got talked into actually purchasing a foam board for $530. Actually his older brother bought the exact same surf board in wildwood the day before for less than half of what they charged at south end. My son was there without my husband or me and the sales woman in the store actually encouraged a 16 year old boy who was there by himself to buy a board for double the amount he should have paid. My husband went right back to the store as soon as my son got home (about 15-20 minutes later) to explain that it was terrible policy for them to have taken advantage of a young boy the way they did. The saleswoman agreed and called the owner to see if he/she would approve the return. The owner would not approve the return and refused to get on the phone with my husband. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE customer service and policies and morals!!!! Can’t say enough terrible things…from charging double for everything in their store to bamboozling a 16 year old into emptying his bank account for a surfboard to the owner not even speaking to my husband to discuss the terrible policies of the store and personnel. Will never ever go here again and I will tell this story to anyone who is looking for a surf shop in cape may. I will gladly tell everyone to go to wildwood. Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! UPDATE: Thank you for your response. I appreciate you trying to deflect the negative review. Just about everything you (as the owner) just said is completely wrong…down to my name. My son was definitely talked into purchasing this board. His cousin was with him and corroborated his story when asked separately before my husband went back to the store. Your salesperson told him it made more sense to buy this board as it would be almost as much money to rent for 2 weeks. If you had all of this to say, owner, why did you refuse to get on the phone and speak with my husband? Also, he does not have Apple Pay and has never even been to (or heard of) ortley beach. Nice try though."

"Great store with awesome merchandise and extremely knowledgeable staff! It's a surfers surf shop and they can set you up with the gear you need and point you in the right direction if you don't know the area."

"Large selection of surf-related t-shirts and shorts. Hard to find specific shirts, but with some digging, we were able to find what we were looking for. Also found a pair of Oneill shorts (my favorites). Prices are a bit high, but I’ve never had an issue with anything I’ve purchased from here. Friendly cashier today as well."
