"What an amazing birthday dinner for my dearest. This place hit the expectations and beyond! Can we 1st talk about the impeccable service! From attentive to friendly and more! 1st we got a complimentary Amuse-bouche of butternut squash that was the perfect bite. Followed by 2 different toast appetizes...1 blue crab and 1 shrimp and was so beyond pleased! Savory but still light and fresh. Osso bucco and rack of lamb for dinner and again hit it out the park. Veal Osso bucco was served with a apple celery slaw that was so nice and light with a perfect citrus accent it, made what could have been a heavy meal feel light and balanced. That butter and veggies pared with the rack of lamb was also great compliment to eachother. And finished off with a passion fruit pavolva with coconut macaroons which was not too sweet and a delicious combo of flavors. Big A+ for this restaurant"
"Vernick’s cooking style is chic minimalism: “simple” unfussy dishes with flawless technical execution. Every little detail feels just right. Above all, the food’s so delicious that you’ll savor each bite. The service was thoughtful and welcoming. The waitstaff spent a lot of time to guide me through the menu, highlighting the popular and the “signature” dishes. I’ve become a huge fan of the Vernick brand. Too many restaurants charge more for worse experiences. Vernick’s pricing seems fair for such consistently delicious and skillfully made food. It easily passes the most important test: do I look forward to dining here again? Absolutely yes! I’m practically guaranteed a wonderful dining experience."
"My daughter and I had a great overall experience at Vernick Food & Drink. It began with our request to sit at the Chef’s counter to watch the food preparation action, the creative cocktails, seamless service, and finally, the sublime food. The menu is creative with many options for dining - small plates, large plates, brick oven specialties, small starter ‘toasts’ and ‘raw fish’ menus. A perfect tasting menu for diners to share the variety of unique dishes offered. The mix of flavors in each dish are complex and perfectly tuned, and the preparation is flawless. Highly recommended."
"We've been 3 times over the past 4-5 years. always for special occasions. Every time we eat here, we have something I just can't forget. This time, it was the pasta. We also got the chicken again. My husband tells everyone it's the best he's ever had. The various rooms have different vibes. I enjoyed watching the kitchen staff downstairs, but I could see someone being disappointed about being seated here. It doesn't have the warm ambiance of the upstairs dining room. The expansion next door is a bit different as well. Warm and relaxed for sure, but again, a step down from the main dining room. That room feels more like your typical byob. That being said, the food is artistically conceived, expertly executed, and typically delivered with a warm smile and patient, precise service. This is probably my favorite restaurant in the city. Also, the two of us had 3 courses plus dessert and a round of drinks, and with tip, it was around $305. At the risk of sounding out of touch, for this level of food, it's not insanely expensive."
"Vegetarian perspective I still dream about the corn ravioli! I could have eaten a giant bowl of them...Got a lot of vegetarian options on the menu to split and was happy to see that there were a good amount of options. Only feedback I have is about the artichoke. I love getting whole artichoke when in California and this was the first time I've seen it on a menu here, so decided to try it. I won't get it again from here, it was boiled and just kind of blah. Everything else was so yummy though, including dessert!"
