"This was my primary care provider from about age 12-26. I WISH I had more awareness to “shop around” for a doctor instead of thinking: I guess this is just the way it is. This place was so difficult to work with. I’m a relatively healthy individual with very straight forward wellness visits. I was asked questions as a teenager about how I was feeling and had no idea the extra $$$ that would be charged if I even breathed concerns with snoring, allergies, anxiety, mood etc. during my annual physical. (They have posters on the walls now because clearly this happened to a lot of people). As I got older, I kept my mouth shut at every annual wellness visit out of fear that anything I said would cost more money. At 18, I went to college out of state and this office was as good as useless. I have 2 long term prescriptions. 1 was for acne (started taking at 20) and 1 was birth control (started taking at 16). The 1 for acne can affect some people’s potassium levels. This office required me to have a wellness physical every single year (to receive the birth control) and get a blood test every single year (to receive the acne medicine). Every year my potassium levels were perfectly fine, but they would actually stop refilling my acne prescription right at the 1 year mark if I didn’t get an annual blood test. They would also stop refilling my birth control if I didn’t come in for an annual physical too. This was really inconvenient and annoying as these prescriptions were simply to manage my lifestyle and neither ever caused me concerning side effects year after year. Especially towards the end, it was like really? I’ve been on birth control for 10 years and the acne medication for 5 years, yet you still can’t give me any refills beyond 12 months because it’s “best practice?” It felt like the office’s way of caring more about the money they could get out of me than my actual well-being. I never moved back to CT after college. At 26, I called and sent paperwork in the mail to have the office send my records to a new doctor’s office in another state. I called back multiple times and after 2 years my new office has still not received my past records. I’m going to have to make a special trip over the holidays just to go into the office in person and demand my records. One last thing, I got my first UTI at 27. I had heard from other girls that they just call their pcp and get a short term prescription over the phone after explaining their symptoms. Well not with Prohealth! I called and they could do nothing for me unless I wanted to schedule, wait, and pay for a doctor’s visit. I said forget it and went to CVS minute clinic. This office scared me into silence, required me to have the maximum number of visits and blood tests performed (that they could justify), and doesn’t seem to care about the patient as a person. I’m dreading standing in that old lady waiting room to ask reception for my records because I know it’s not going to be a smooth interaction. I have no faith in them and I know they will not be pleasant to interact with. After all, they won’t profit from giving me my records and what good am I if not a source of $$$… I have no confidence that I will actually be able to leave with what I go in looking for. If I could do it all again, I would never become a patient here. I STRONGLY recommend you find a new office if you are an out of state college student."

"I received a bill from the prohealth practice in Groton a year and a half later and the bill was incorrect. They were over charging me over $80! when I spoke with the manager of the billing department his costumer service was beyond deplorable and ran me around in circles for over 45 minutes. I would highly recommend if you use them to always check your bills and check your insurance because they very well could be overcharging you and stay on top of the bills make sure they charge you in a reasonable amount of time!"

"I don’t typically write reviews but after seeing what some people have said I feel it’s important to share how wonderful this office truly is! Laura Watts is amazing. I love everyone in the practice and have been going for over 10 years. The front of the office is so friendly and caring. All of the nurses are so kind and considerate and every doctor I have seen is wonderful. It’s important for people to share the truth when angry and impatient people come on here just to complain. THIS OFFICE IS AMAZING!!!"

"I've been going to this office for 20+ years and recently it has quickly gone downhill in the last year. You can't get an appointment for a regular visit and you have to call the office at 8:30 to try to get a sick appointment and if you don't get one, you have to try again every morning at 8:30. They don't book sick appointments in advance, so good luck. Don't even bother going there. You're better off waiting in the emergency room for hours on end. At least you'll get seen there. So much for personal care!"
