About the Business
St. Hilda's & St. Hugh's School, located at 619 West 114th Street in New York City, was founded in 1950 by Reverend Mother Ruth with a vision of creating a diverse and inclusive school community. The school offers primary education and is committed to celebrating the faith backgrounds of all families while nurturing the unique potential of each student.
Since its inception, the school has undergone significant growth and development, including the addition of world language programs and daily physical education for all students. The school's 20-year Master Building Plan has led to the creation of modern and intentionally designed learning spaces, such as the C.V. Starr Library and Learning Center.
In an effort to promote environmental awareness, the school opened a greenhouse in 2008 where students can learn about gardening, sustainability, and conservation. The school's commitment to joyful learning and unity in diversity will be celebrated in 2025 when St. Hilda's & St. Hugh's marks its 75th anniversary.
