"Ever been in a place and said "yeah, this feels right"? That's Woodhull. If Frankie is behind the bar it's even better. Place is clean, comfortable, and the perfect place to calm down after you've had a day. It's a combination of a local bar and a spot you can bring your kids to for dinner."

"I want to say amazing things about this small, nice looking neighborhood bar in Commack, however other than the atmosphere, as I just described and nice staff, unfortunately, there are issues. First and foremost, the prices are very steep! They have a small selection of tap beers and a larger selection of bottled beers. At the time of my visit, I was drinking tap beer at 8 dollars a pint. I was here during “happy hour” (4-7pm) and the beer specials were PBR cans or Miller Lite bottles for 3 dollars. These are very very sad happy hour specials! As far as food, I felt they had a nice mixture of menu options. I ordered a wrap that tasted amazing, however the fries were definitely reheated and tasted disgusting! Yeah, I know it’s been tough on small businesses, but keep in mind it’s also tough on some of the people that patronize them. Can’t do the neighborhood bar thing with NYC prices and again to stress the point; the happy hour specials are terrible!"

"The fish and chips was great! Heinekens chilled, the way I like them…Neighborhood bar/pub with no stress! Going to try to catch some Live music and do a Girls Night out! There will be a Follow-Up!"

"I went to lunch on Friday August 19 as I was told they have the best French onion soup in Commack. After having it, let me tell you, I agree. The soup came out and the cheese was perfectly melted on top and was evena little burned which gave it a terrific crunch! After having the soup I asked Frank the owner/bartender what he would recommend for lunch as I was indecisive. He suggested the chicken sandwich that had cheese, bacon and mozzarella. Frank also stated that it all comes together when you dip it into the gravy. Let me yell you, just like the French onion soup this was also on point! While I was there I had a beer and an Irish cream as well. I thought the prices were very reasonable and i will most certainly be going back. Lastly, I just wanted to add that Frank was very personable. I went out to lunch alone and it was myself, Frank and patron named John that were conversing for well over an hour straight. It's clear to me that Frank cares about his customers and his bar. Do yourself a favor and head over to Woodhull Tavern. You'll be thankful that you did. Also, don't forget to order the soup!"
