"Very convient medical care for sports injuries, falls, all ortho related issues"
"The first experience I had here was great, I don’t remember the woman’s name but she was very kind and sympathetic. This time it was horrible. Angela was extremely dismissive of my pain to the point that I felt like I was being argued with when trying to explain my symptoms. When expressing frustration with my pain level and lack of cause she simply told me she’s “seen children with tumors die of cancer” and that my life could be worse. This is EXTREMELY unprofessional and downright rude!!! Just because some people have it worse does not mean others aren’t in pain and shouldn’t seek help. I do not understand the need to bring up tragedy to someone simply looking for answers. When I mentioned that the otc meds I used have done nothing I felt she treated me like a drug seeker. I was not interested in any medication but was trying to explain that the current treatment isn’t working. I left simply with a note telling me to stretch, but if I had not yet tried stretching I would not have come here. I nearly left in tears. this is one of my worst experiences at a drs office and I recommend going literally anywhere else after this experience. Absolutely disgusting."
"I love the clinic available. They have diagnosed broken bones, set up doctors appointments and therapy I used to work in the ER, so this is a wonderful option. They even rushed me to the ER in an ambulance due to what x-rays showed. It is late in the day, so they aren't usually warm and fuzzy. That works for me, I want a diagnosis and care- no need to hold my hand."
"Shortened version: As a patient I have a right to be informed and participate in my care and treatment plan, both of which were not provided to me. 2. Know the name of health care providers and their roles in my care, which was not provided to me because the management team didn't want me to report said individuals to the Department of Health, 3. A reasonable response to a request, which was eventually provided to me after informing them that I will be getting the Department of Health involved, but it should not take that extent. 4 Receive an assessment and be informed of treatment methods and the management of my pain and discomfort, which was NOT provided to me at all! 5. Be informed about the care I will need after Discharge which AGAIN! was not provided 6. When I complained to the manager she tried to tell me that she needed to vet whether or not my complaint / grievances should be escalated to the Office of Patient and Family Affairs or the Department of health which is false, that is everyone's right as a patient, please do not let this office convince you otherwise. Full story: This is review is for the Orthopedic Associates of Hartford in the Glastonbury location; however, this was not an urgent care visit, it was a scheduled visit during their office hours prior to when the Urgent Care Opens. I injured my lower back and experienced excruciating back pain and leg pain. It was to the point where I contemplated calling 911, but I decided to see a specialist instead. My appointment was at 3, they asked me to arrive early so I arrived at 2:30. While waiting, a woman walked out of her appointment stating "Run for your lives!" I wish I hadn't brushed it off. It was too painful for me to sit down, so I stood for 1 hour until the PA saw me at 3:30 pm. Not to mention the first Receptionist was very rude. Once the PA finally saw me, I tried to explain my medical history, as well as explain how I became injured, but he rushed me into an X - Ray, not giving me the chance to fully explained what occurred. He said my X- Rays looked fine, did a brief examination, and stated I seemed fine. He placed a back brace on me which made my pain worse (but he didn't care).. and prescribed some pain meds, (the pain did not subside from the medicine at all) I was then rushed out of his office. As I was checking out with a different receptionist, I asked her what the problem was since the PA didn't take the time to explain what injury I had or what was occurring. She said "I don't know? Maybe muscle spasms." I asked her to ask the PA, She came back and said that he believed I have a bulging disc. I asked her to go get him for me to request aftercare instructions. The receptionist seemed frustrated and the PA quickly came out to tell me "no bending." I asked for a doctors note, he asked me what I wanted it to say. I was so much pain I truly could not think clearly and started explaining that I had to miss work for a few days and come see him so it would be helpful to start with that. He wrote it down, told me to have a nice day and rushed me on my way out, ushering me out of the office. I was so overwhelmed by the lack of concern and care for my injury that I decided to call the next day, hoping the medicine would make me less overwhelmed. I needed more instructions and an augmented doctor's note. After going back and forth with the receptionist and the manager of the location, the PA called me from his private cellphone number (I presume since they didn't want the call recorded), where rather than acknowledging his lack of care and the office's lack of professionalism, he insinuated that I was malingering and told me to do whatever I want with my back pain and injury; thus, again not providing me with any of the treatment plans I have rights to as a patient. Thankfully my primary care physician and the physical therapist were able to diagnose me and provide me with a good treatment plan. Don't waste your time or money going to this Doctors office. I rather be in agony."
"I was referred to Dr. Daugdale, this is the first time I was treated horrible as a patient. First my appointment was at 8:45am, the Doctor saw me around 9:20am and the appointment with him last around 5 minutes, he told me I was lucky about my injury and that I don't need surgery but that I won't be able to play soccer for at least 6 months or a year and he said bye. I stopped him and asked him what should I do? If should I do physical therapy and his answer was "whatever you want to do, you can even do exercises for your knee at home" got up an left the room. I have an ACL injury. Waste of my time and waste of my money. I did not even get a report of my appointment."
