Labcorp at Walgreens 668 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119

"My doctor sent me to Lab Corps for bloodwork and it is a first time experience, as I have gone to Quest for years. I just finished at the 668 Farmington Ave. West Hartford, CT site for my 10 am appt. and I’m actually still in the parking lot because I just need to send this off while the experience is fresh. Shay, was the only employee and when she called me in the only other communication was to gesture to the chair. I had to ask her what her name was. She asked if I were a Starling patient and when I said yes, she started typing. She then came over with 5 vials, no identifying labels on them and started to draw blood. When she was done, she said’ “you’re all set.” I looked at my blood in these unidentified vials and asked her where the labels were. She said she had to write them out and I could wait if I wanted. I said I would. She goes to the back behind the curtain and then comes out with my name and DOB scrawled on 4 stickers. Then annoyed that I had asked in the first place, went back behind the curtain. She hadn’t even attached the labels to my 5 vials of blood. I called to her by name and she did not come out from behind the curtain - she started speaking to me from there. I asked if she expected me to speak to the curtain or if she was coming back out. When she did, I said that I am accustomed to a much more secure chain of custody and identification procedure at Quest with pre-printed labels that I had to confirm was my identifying information on the vials of blood before I left. She said that the machine wasn’t working so she had to write them and send them in with my paperwork. I hadn’t seen any documents associated with me or the requests made from my doctor. I asked her to see the paperwork. By now she is visibly irritated, but guess what? So am I with this truly unprofessional display that I am sure wouldn’t hold up with any HIPPA scrutiny. I am so tired of people who present like they hate their jobs or are comatose. How am I to trust the results if the person and the process were so poorly engaged? This was a terrible experience and I will never use this company again. I’ll go to Quest forever."

"The lab says it is open until 4pm. I rushed from work to get there in time. I checked in using the kiosk at 3:45pm. The technician came out at 3:50pm to inform me that she was packing up for the day and would not draw my blood. If the lab is not open until 4pm the lab hours should be adjusted the reflect when the lab is open for service."

"I have to get a test done for my new job and waited for 30min, 12:00-12:30pm. Nobody was around and the iPads were not working. Extremely unprofessional and a waste of people's time. The worst part is I still have to go back before I can begin my job and it doesn't sound like they'll be there. My fiance went and waited almost an hour after checking in. He was the only one on the waiting list... Unprofessional, not looking forward to coming back."

"The tech who drew my blood did a great job. BUT THEY HAD REFUSED TO BE IMMUNIZED AGAINST COVID! Had I known this, as a person who cannot mount an immune response, I would have gone elsewhere. No excuse for a medical worker not to be immunized by mid-March, putting vulnerable patients at risk."
