"This is truly a hidden gem. The short walk to the emerald lagoon is nicely maintained. If you park at the 10 Shattuck Rd #3 lot you can either take the trail that goes to the right when you begin or you can continue straight down the semi paved road and just continue to stay straight and you will come up on the breathtaking lagoon. You can walk all the way around it. There is a Sandy section with muscle shells scattered and there is a beautiful wooden bridge that goes over a serene stream. You could get lost for hours. Truly Natures Jungle Gym."

"Simple well maintained wide trail trail system is well marked and a joy to walk or hike. Be sure to visit the crystal clear lake with the eerie green glow. It’s the last remaining pond of a system of three to pool mine tailings and spoils. Remnants of days gone by include a basketball court in a forest that has taken back all but the hoop and backboard. Mines in this area were once owned by Henry David Thoreau’s family for graphite (pencil lead). No mining remains in this area but tell tale signs remain."

"This place is the real deal. There's an aquifer fed pond that has an amazing aqua and emerald color due to the minerals coming up from deep within the aquifer. The trails are very nice as well. This place is a gem to be found"
