Fred Astaire Dance Studios - South Windsor

"The South Windsor Fred Astaire dance studio is really a cut above. I’ve attended some of the social events and the instructors are so very warm and welcoming, and FUN! It really is like a family atmosphere and they love to laugh and play around. However when it comes to dance instruction, they seriously know their stuff and they work to bring out the best in their students. Recently I attended a showcase event. I was there to cheer on my boyfriend however I couldn’t help but notice, and be impressed by just how polished all of the South Windsor student’s dances were. They really stood out and it says a lot about the caliber of the instructors and their dedication to teaching dance. Most studios will likely have one or two “star” students but every single student from the South Windsor studio performed at a higher level. This would be the place to go if you want to look good dancing, if you want instructors who can bring out your best, and if you want to also have fun while becoming your best."

"We knew we wanted to get dance lessons prior to our wedding – neither myself or my husband are natural dancers. In fact, I always feel awkward dancing. We booked a consultation with Viktor and it was great! He convinced us to go ahead with booking private dance lessons and to go with a choreographed first dance. Majority of our lessons were with Yuliya or Jose. They were both really good. They choreographed a dance for us so quickly, based on our skill level and our music choice. We started our lessons pretty early on (April time-frame for a November wedding). So, we completed our 10 private dance lessons well ahead of our wedding. We enjoyed it so much, that we purchased an additional 10 private dance lessons to get us in tip-top shape for our wedding. We highly recommend this location for anyone looking to take dance lessons. They are so welcoming and fun! Our wedding dance went amazingly and Jose and Yuliya got us well prepared for it – our guests were raving about it!"

"This dance studio is beyond fantastic! Great atmosphere and all of the staff are very inviting and professional. I came to this studio to learn how to dance for my daughter’s wedding and had absolutely no dance experience whatsoever. I had a very particular song already picked out, which was rather long (4.5 minutes). Tanya (our dance instructor) choreographed a very elegant dance. If someone was to ask me if I could have learned to dance, let alone learn a choreographed dance in 10 lessons, I would have said they were crazy but Tanya did it. Tanya is an absolutely phenomenal dance instructor and our Father/Daughter dance at the wedding was absolutely amazing. I received a lot of compliments from the quests on how beautiful our dance was and all the credit goes to Tanya. On behalf of my daughter Tammie and myself, I want to thank Tanya and the rest of the staff for making us feel so welcome and helping to make my daughters wedding day a special moment in time I can remember forever."

"I have been dancing (various styles) since I was 6 years old, and I have to say this is the best studio and teachers I have ever worked with. They are all very supportive and encouraging. They always see more potential in me than I see in my self and if I think I can't do something, they show me that I can. I have been with this studio just over a year now, and have progressed so much faster than I ever did at prior studios. I would highly recommend everyone try a lesson / class if they have the opportunity to. They have something for everyone and for what ever skill/experience level you are at."

"This place is professional and amazing! I came here for my dance lessons before my wedding for a dance with my fiance and with my father. It was easy to learn and pick up quick even for a beginner who has never danced like myself. They make you feel confident right away and if you make a mistake they make you feel completely at ease and teach you at your own pace. Tanya is fantastic! She was my instructor and she just had a way about taking my nervousness away the moment she took my hand. I found out later that she does makeup and they are very reasonably priced for makeup for an event. I did a test run and everyone kept telling me how stunning it was. It was definitely Pro level work and I can't recommend the place enough! If I could do 10 Stars I would. They teach you at any level from beginners to Advanced and help you with competitions too. We are definitely going to continue lessons after the wedding. If you're overweight this is an amazing place to start with low impact exercise. I'm a plus size gal and I was definitely burning some calories while having fun at my own pace."
