Amazon Fresh

"As a big Amazon user and supporter, I recently had an issue with Amazon Fresh that deeply disappointed me. As Amazon service is usually exceptional, I was hoping to get it resolved quickly, but unfortunately that has yet to happen. I am a college student and therefore Amazon has always proven reliable and the best way for me to get necessary supplies. When Amazon Fresh in Oceanside, New York opened up recently, naturally it became my go-to grocery store despite the fact that there are closer stores to me. I typically can only afford to spend about $25-$30 on groceries per week and thus Amazon Fresh has always met my needs. However, I was recently surprised when I got my receipt back after my trip this past Sunday and it showed $49. After looking at my receipt, I noticed it charged me for 3 items that I did not purchase, for a total of $24. Immediately I tried to return the items through my Amazon app, but each time received an error message. I called Amazon’s customer service in order to explain the issue and request my refund and they said it should take 3-5 days. 6 days later, I had still received no email detailing my return and had not seen the return reflected in my bank account. Two days ago I was on a support chat with customer service for over an hour, each time getting passed on to a new customer service representative that was “specialized” in the issue. And still each time I received no help or further instruction. Finally I called again and was on the phone for 45 minutes trying to resolve the issue. Each worker I spoke to was friendly but even after contacting their supervisor to help with the issue, I kept getting told that they could not process my order and get my refund. Eventually they told me I had to go into an Amazon Fresh store, so I did. Yesterday, they tried for 30 minutes to figure out the issue with my order and process the refund—no luck. Finally they said all they can do is give me three $5 coupons (since the max they can give out is three) and that I can only use one coupon per trip. I am extremely disappointed that in the span of a week, this is the only thing that has been able to be done. I was given a total of $15 in coupons in place of a refund that should have been for $24. As a longstanding Amazon supporter, I am incredibly shocked at how everyone has chosen to handle my issue and the fact that they seem to think it is resolved. As a company that seems to be all about customer satisfaction, I have received none from my recent experience with Amazon."

"Cool market. Really futuristic with all the cameras everywhere. I think their fresh food section is a huge plus. Beautiful salad bar as well as other prepared foods. I was charged for a drink that I picked up and put back so make sure to CHECK THE AMAZON RECIEPT. Will definitely be coming back."

"My initial expectation was high about the Just Walk Out shopping. After trying it out, It was a bit disappointed. I didn't get a receipt until a few hours later. I wouldn't know what was being charged until I went home. That made me worry. Especially this is the first time I've used it. Also, on the day of my visit (Saturday afternoon), there are many empty shelves in the store. On the other hand, there are traditional casher checks out for those who don't feel comfortable with the Just Walk Out shopping. *** It doesn't require prime membership to shop in the Amazon Fresh store. *** The overall environment it good, the store is clean. It is better than many big name supermarket. However, it is not as good as Whole Foods Market. I also miss the welcoming experience where Trader Joe's provides."

"Prices are on the high side compared to other supermarkets. It has a premium feel, very clean and everything is neatly presented. The deli selection looks good. I'm not a member and didn't try the just walk out feature. Only one cashier was open when I visited, but it wasn't busy and there wasn't much of a wait."
