"We worked with Lou Vamvakas. If you want zero communication, turbo-tax type of service for a very very hefty price then you can consider him for your taxes. He barely spoke on the phone, returned emails only after several follow ups over the course of weeks, and most questions were yes/no. It was like pulling teeth! Not sure what's going on? Maybe he hates his job but he should retire if that's the case. Literally gave us no advice whatsoever, and also prompted a follow up from the IRS because he forgot to include a form when he filed. On top of that he got our SSN wrong, prompting the IRS to reject our taxes the first time he submitted. He never apologized for that incident. Plenty of good CPAs out there, but unfortunately I cannot recommend Lou."

"Highly disappointed in the Gitlin firm. My father was a loyal customer for years and John has always priced him fair. The last 2 years my father didn’t file with him because he granted me the opportunity to file his taxes. This year my father decided to return to Gitlin firm and was charged 4 times what he used to pay. This fee is almost 1/3 of what my father will be getting this year on top of a pandemic. I am thankful I filed my taxes elsewhere and it costed significantly lower than my father. We will not be retuning here. And I suggest someone to find an honest firm."
