"Want to thank all the Avalon personnel for all the help and hard work with our relocation from the recent building fire. The team in Smithtown went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were met. Stephanie M. responded and addressed every issue that arose, and together with Tom W. made it all happen. It’s staff like this that has myself and my family committed to Avalon Communities. Also, the assistance from staff at the adjoining areas contributed greatly, whether it’s maintenance, customer services or management the team rose to the occasion, thank you"

"Update in 2024: My experience, and some recent experience with the renter's insurance as well, suggests that buying the default renter's insurance is totally not worth it. Don't buy that default insurance through the portal. You will be offered to enroll in the liability program, and have the option to pay a monthly fee of 10$ instead. The insurance does not really cover anything if any accident happens. The liability program at least makes sure that you don't need to pay anything out of pocket when there are any damages. ============================================ New maintenance order on our blocked sink in bathroom is placed on the app. But the maintenance request is closed and no one came. This time I am mad for real. I have received so many emails from Avalon to place all maintenance requests through app. But when you actually place one, it stops working. Edit:Fixed after complaining on google map. It does seem like the google map is the right app mate for them to get things done. ======== Our patio entrance has been blocked by branches for days. I will gladly adjust my rating to five stars after these branches are removed. Edit:They removed the branches."

"I had a fantastic experience working with Avalon Commons Sales and Service Supervisor Stephanie Markowski. I found her very knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated to helping me with the entire process of securing a lease in the beautiful Avalon Commons apartment complex in Smithtown. She was always available to answer any of my questions and assisted me with reserving the unit that I wanted. Her whole team is friendly, wonderful, and they have a great sense of humor. The quality of service is visible by how well the complex is maintained. I am happy that I was able to reserve my unit."

"I lived in Avalon for 4years. Pros: - Maintenance is fast and attentive. Cons: - Leasing office is impossible to get ahold of. They require appointments for phone calls and office visits. So if you have an emergency (like no hot water) good luck. - Dumpster overflows weekly and trash is carried by the wind throughout the apartment complex. (see photos) - Rent increased $400-600 per month every year - They charge you $290 to clean your apartment when you move (only complex I have lived in that does this) - They require you to pay for parking spots though only one parking spot is reserved per apartment. Also my parking spot was > 200 steps away from my apartment and they would not move it to closer parking spots which were not being used. Would not live here again."
