Reviews
"Rental process very up-to-date; ALL staff are courteous and efficient; always a warm greeting and pleasant manner when dealing with Krystel Laramee (Senior Property Manager)."
"I Don't understand how this place could get a bad review. Yes it's an apartment complex so you have neighbors, so people complaining about that are crazy. Only drawback is no in unit washer/dryer everything else is probably the best you could ask for with an apartment. Erika the property manager is friendly and prompt. Jose the maintenance super is incredibly quick and knowledgeable. Apartments are recently renovated and look great. Prices are high but it's what the area demands, try to find something similar and you'll quickly realize rent here is more than fair. I've lived in apartments for 10+ years and this has easily been one of my favorites."
"Tl;dr—overall a good, quiet place to live, though ceilings are really bad for noise from upstairs neighbors. The new apartments are spacious, clean and updated. Location isn’t good if you like walking. Laundry facilities are fine if you're single, but I have heard complaints from families. Hmu on Twitter if you have questions about the complex: @JoshMBrewer I lived in a two bedroom/two bathroom apartment at Centennial Apartments for four years—from July 2017 to July 2021. My roommate and I were the first people to move into Building I, Apartment 3 after it was renovated. I believe a discrepancy you see in some of the reviews is because Buildings H, I and J are newer buildings that were renovated back in 2016 or so. Buildings A through G are older units that haven’t had significant changes since Centennial switched from a hotel to an apartment complex several years ago. (Apartments 1, 2 and 3 opened somewhere in the 2019-2020 range, so those are new as well.) As such, my review only applies to the newer buildings (H, I, J). The Good: -The new apartments (Buildings H, I and J) are large, clean, spacious and feature updated appliances and large (faux) granite countertops. -Central Air! (Note: some units are located right outside bedrooms, so it can be loud if you have the window open) -There's ample parking so there were never issues with friends or family coming to visit. -Jose, the property's repairman/maintenance guy, is responsive and resolves issues quickly. -Magnetic key and keypad entry for easy apartment access. Traditional keys are used for access to mail, the pool and the laundry facilities. Ideally, the property should switch the laundry facility to the magnetic key too. -Pretty quiet area. If you live in Building G (or any building that's right off Spring Lane), you might get some road noise. -Close proximity to the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail (about 1.5 miles). The Bad: -No online rent payment option. Rent must be paid by check and either hand delivered to the property manager or placed in an insecure mail slot. -Cell phone reception on Verizon is terrible across the property. -While the pool is nice to have, it's too small to do any actual swimming. -The basketball court needs a lot of work, especially the netting that surrounds the court to prevent the ball from going into the woods. There's poison ivy back there, so be careful. -The double bowl sink in the kitchen is annoying because anything larger than a 12- or 14-inch pan won't fit. -Not sure if this is common across all apartments or just I-3, but the floor at the kitchen counter is uneven, so chairs wobble. -No light fixtures in the bedrooms. -Nearly every errand requires a car, so this isn't the place for you if you like to walk. (5-10 minute drive to shops in Bristol, 15 minutes to Farmington Library, 15 minutes to shops on Queen Street in Southington, 15-20 minutes to Target/Costco in New Britain, 20 minutes to Blue Back Square/Downtown West Hartford) The Ugly: -The fitness center is abysmal. The equipment looks like it's from the 1990s. I stepped foot in the gym once in my four years and never returned. -Ceilings are incredibly thin. Over the years, I've heard my neighbors talking, watching movies, playing piano and singing. The worst part was hearing the upstairs folks having sex because you hear all of it. -The sliding closet doors in the bedrooms come off the hinges all the time, even with light use. The old property manager, Jacqui, wanted to remove these from all apartments but never got around to it."
"Short Synopsis: This is a decent average apartment complex charging luxury apartment prices. Pros- The walls are sound proof. You'll almost never hear your neighbors next door. There is a nice creek that goes through the middle, its nice to look at. Management is relatively quick at responding to complaints. Free parking with plenty of space. Location is nice. Fireplace inside apt. is nice. Management was incredibly accommodating during the quarantine. Cons- This place is incredibly overpriced for what it offers. The ceiling is not sound proof, and you will hear your neighbor walking around. There is only one guy for maintenance in the entire complex. He's nice, but you can clearly tell he lacks expertise in certain areas, and thus will make up some excuse for why the thing that is broken is not broken. He's also just one guy, meaning if its a busy week or time, your issue might not get addressed for quite some time (poor guy also is on call the entire time). The basketball court is in disarray, the gym has 5 pieces of equipment, the pool is small, the laundry room only has 4 washers and 5 dryers for the entire complex. Management is never in the office now a days, don't bother calling or trying to drop in."
"I lived at Centennial Apartments for a year and it was an all-around amazing experience. The management of the property is extremely helpful and accommodating and the on-site maintenance is so quick! The unit was recently redone and it is absolutely beautiful. Everything was brand new and the design was gorgeous. The apartments are the largest I've ever seen in the area and I truly couldn't have asked for a better apartment experience."
