"We only stood here because we thought it was connected to the old village area where we had a phantom event. We booked without incident. Easy peasy. However, we didn't get a receipt, and it took a few calls to get nowhere. Emailing wad easier. Seems they're very short staffed and only have 1 person manning the lines. This isn't her fault at all. But it made me so nervous because I booked this place after seeing an ad on Facebook, and I worried I got scammed. Arrival was just as bad. We and a group of seniors showed up around the same time to locked main office doors. No one there. Yes we were there early but I just didn't expect there to be zero service at all. The older women were more upset than I was. It was what it was. We had to call security thankfully the number was on the door otherwise I don't know how long we'd have been there for .they helped us. It felt disorganized in the beginning but we were able to enter the village while staff arrived to accommodate us. It was a small interruption but an interruption nonetheless. The rooms were ok..but a toothpick wad left on the bathroom floor from a past guest that grossed me out. Place seemed empty. The reservation system needs help. I've never been anywhere where staff wasn't available 247, but I didn't mind that much. I hope they do manage to get it together because the pool looked like it hadn't been opened all summer and it made me weary about how long they'd be in business if they didn't work out some kinks because the place is quaint. The village, however, is a much farther walk than I imagined. You will need a car to get to it. There are no hotels close enough as to where a car wouldn't be needed. You could walk maybe... but not with small kids because the sidewalks end and they race down the roadway. Scary Wasn't quite what was advertised. But we had a good weekend."

"Pros: It's close to the old village (10 min walk or short drive). It's very picturesque, the accomodation faces each other on a green with wandering geese and rabbits. Friendly, helpful staff (Emily). The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Aircon worked well in the summer. Cons: If you're looking for historical experience, most of the accommodation is late 20th century motel made to look oldy-style. The shower room / toilet is tiny (too small to dry off / change) and definitely needs a refit. The pool was covered / closed (in August) with no explanation. The 'continental breakfast' is self-serve coffee and a muffin – just say what it is! The booking system is very old-fashioned too, with email requests for the booking and telephone payment. Overall I would say the cost does not justify the experience ($310 per night, for one night the cost of entry to the old village included brings down the cost to $250), but longer than one night it's definitely way above what it should be."

"Nice old spot, near everything, very old inn, interesting old rooms. The front door to the Bldg we were in was hard to open, with card key, but worked. Comfy bed. A good spot. No one in office though, after we checked in, to assist. I think they should have someone there on more regular hours. Things happen. But, I liked the place and it's old world charm and near Old Sturbridge and regular Sturbridge."

"This place was fabulous. We stayed here this past weekend (Mother's Day). Room was very large, very clean, beautifully decorated. Beds and linens very comfortable. Large, two-sick bathroom. Free breakfast, but most importantly quiet. Separate houses/units meant you didn't have the noise of fellow guests coming in late, getting in early, or running up and down the hallways. Would definitely return and recommend. Woman who worked the front desk very nice and loved the free chocolate cookies. Just a great find, all around!"
