Little Minds Early Learning Centre

Welcome to Little Minds Early Learning Centre, located in Te Awamutu on Te Rahu Road. Our establishment is not just a school or a point of interest, but a place where little minds can unfurl and reach their full potential, just like the koru unfurls into a silver fern.

At our centre, we have created a warm and welcoming environment for children, parents, whaanau (extended family), and teachers. We have two distinct learning spaces that cater to different age groups. The Koru Room is dedicated to our babies up to two years old, while the Fern Room is for children aged two to five years old.

Our primary aim is to provide a high-quality education programme that embraces the bicultural and multicultural diversity of Aotearoa. We believe that from one seed, a tree can grow and bear many fruits. Similarly, we believe that every child has the potential to flourish and achieve great things.

In the Koru Room, we focus on nurturing, caring, and educating babies until they are approximately two years old. Our approach is based on the philosophy of Emmi Pikler, emphasizing respectful practices and recognizing that a child's play is their work.

Moving on to the Fern Room, this space is designed for children aged two to three years until they are ready to start school at five or six years old. Here, we provide a balanced mix of free play and structured activities, both initiated by the child and the teacher. Our curriculum is based on Te Whaariki, the Early Childhood Curriculum, which is recognized by the New Zealand Ministry of Education.

Our teachers are carefully chosen for their strong educational backgrounds and their passion for early childhood education. They have the knowledge and expertise to equip children with the necessary skills for their lifelong learning journey.
