Welcome to Kidsfirst Kindergartens Belfast, located at Main North Road, Christchurch, New Zealand. Nestled into Sheldon Park and attached to the Belfast School grounds, our kindergarten is easily accessible with plenty of parking available.

Our kindergarten boasts a beautiful big backyard that serves as a space for exploration, discovery, and wonderment. Set in a natural environment, it encourages children to take risks, engage in physical activities, and set their own challenges in a fun and collaborative manner. We place great importance on teaching our children to be kaitiaki (guardians) of the environment and instilling a sense of responsibility towards Papatuānūku.

At Kidsfirst Belfast, we believe in empowering children to learn through relationships, which in turn builds confident, respectful, and connected learners. We strive to foster a sense of curiosity, inquiry, and creativity in our children, preparing them for a world that values these attributes.

Our environment and teaching methods are specifically tailored to encourage these aspirations. On any given day at Belfast Kindergarten, you may witness our children taking on leadership roles, being responsible for their own well-being and learning. By promoting independence, we help children develop a strong sense of self and confidence, supporting their lifelong learning journey.

We highly value the involvement of whānau (family) in our kindergarten community. Whānau are welcome to participate in their child's kindergarten day, sharing their skills and culture. We believe that children learn best when teachers and whānau work together. Community and connectedness lie at the heart of what we do, as we actively seek new connections and embrace the multiculturalism and diversity of our community.

We have a strong partnership with Belfast School, often collaborating in learning and activities. Our oldest children regularly visit the school, fostering a strong relationship and ensuring a seamless transition to school for them.

For optimal learning and support, we recommend enrolling your child for at least two full days initially. This allows our teachers to get to know your child and ensures consistency in supporting their learning.
