Australian Festival of Chamber Music

Welcome to the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, located in the vibrant city of Townsville in Queensland, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, the AFCM is proud to acknowledge and pay respects to the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Townsville, the Wulgurukaba of Gurambilbarra and Yunbenun, as well as the Bindal people. We recognize and value the integral role that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people play in our creative and artistic endeavors.

The AFCM is a highly anticipated event, and we are excited to announce that AFCM 2023 took place from 28th July to 6th August. This year's festival featured over 30 concerts and events, showcasing the incredible talent of 39 world-class musicians, including 14 international artists. It's a truly unique experience to witness these exceptional musicians perform right here in sunny Townsville-Gurambilbarra.

For over 30 years, the Australian Festival of Chamber Music has been dedicated to creating opportunities for musicians across regional North Queensland. None of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors, who share our vision for transformative chamber music in the tropics.

Each year, AFCM brings together around 40 musicians from Australia and around the world. They are the beating heart of our festival, and witnessing their performances and interactions on stage is an unforgettable experience. You can even support these talented artists by becoming an Artist Angel.
