"So happy we found Melanie at Octopus Dive!!! Completely professional experience getting my kids (ages 12&14) Open Water certified. We traveled to Cairns from The Netherlands for their in-person training, but she was a great communicator long before that, as we made our plans and the boys took the online portion of the course. She even held a zoom session with them to review what they had learned so far and to ensure all our expectations were in-sync. Once we met her in-person, she really began to exceed expectations! As a teacher she is equal parts serious and fun and developed such a great rapport with the kids. She was patient and kind, firm and fair. Melanie even acted as a bit of a tour guide, pointing out sights along routes to and from dive sites and even took us for a hike to see a platypus in the wild. She is just so genuinely kind and fun! We are already planning a trip back next year to further the kids’ (and parents’) training with Octopus Dive. It was that good!"
