Reviews
"Disappointing having my first experience with Tafe studying Cert IV in Cyber Security. The course is also run throughout QLD, and Australia apparently. Course material vastly out of date (dating back to 2013 and beyond), with obsolete material riddled throughout. There is also a massive amount of broken links in their learning material and assignments require using websites or software that haven't existed for many years or the material hasn't been updated inline with software version releases for 5-10 years. Learning Cyber Security requires up to date material. Also some of the teacher/or trainers show very poor knowledge of the material and if you prove them wrong, they wont like it to say the least lol. The material is also poorly curated. For one example, it uses Propitiatory Software in more than one unit that is specific to one hardware manufacturer, and akin to a major fast food conglomerate providing cooking lessons, but only using their take away food. Also, poor Tafe support staff that caused a massive time consuming (months) issue that had to be resolved by the AAT. The course also appears falsely advertised as there is no mention of all the errors, outdated material, and the multitude of the broken links, in their spin about the course on the Tafe website homepage (sort of like booking a hotel online with enticing photos and wonderful sounding write ups, and when you get there, the motel is a dump that over looks a sewage treatment plant) - not what it is advertised as. I wish I read a real review of this course before wasting over a year and it's no wonder Australia is in so much trouble with cyber security at the moment, if this course is a standard for cyber security personnel starting out. Much better free online I.T.,Cyber Security, Networking, and Programing courses offered by Ivy League Colleges and Universities like Harvard, Yale, Princeton if you search with google."
