Property Vine - Holborn at Central

"DO NOT GO THERE I stayed at the Holborn at central hotel in Townsville from July 13-15th. Upon my arrival at 10:30pm at night I discovered that the bed was so soft I could not sleep on it and had to sleep on the floor. The next day reviewed the apartment I discovered the following. 1. Ants in the kitchen (see picture) 2. The shower leaked (see picture) 3. The bathroom basin tap was broken (see picture) 4. The couch was covered with a rug and after removing the rug this was discovered(see picture) And lastly I removed the bed sheets on the bed and discovered that the mattress was previously soiled and was covered with towels to cover up the mess See pictures."

"You do get what you pay for, and at $266 for 2 nights, you get a very dirty room. The carpets were stained in multiple spots, dust absolutely everywhere. There were dust socks on the fans. However, they clearly haven't been changed or cleaned in months, as someone with asthma the layers of dust made it particularly hard for me to breathe. There were also stains all over the dooner, and instead of using dooner covers, it was folded between 2 flat sheets; meaning when we went to bed, the sheets unravelled revealing the discussing stains that appeared to be blood and urine or sweat. The staff were accommodating and polite when asked for new clean linen and replaced the filthy dooner with a clean one. However, they still rapped it between 2 flat sheets, leading me to believe they do not use dooner covers at all. Location wise, it was very close to the city, cowboys centre, and races track and had a lovely hot pot and kareon BBQ place right across the parking lot. Easy to find, and the after-hours check-in service was a breath. Be very careful if you use the pool, however, as the wooden boards around it are soft and rooting. I would call it a major safety issue as the boards on the stairs leading to the pool as so soft the they bend under your feet coursing a slip hazard."

"Absolutely filthy!! From the floors to the walls. Rubbish on the floor in the bedroom and under the TV unit. The floors look like they have never been cleaned. I was even nervous to sleep the bed. We are staying in a 2 bedroom unit and it’s terrible. Train noise, loud music this place isn’t very quiet. Won’t be staying here again. Please make sure these rooms are cleaned properly before you let people stay in them. Very disappointing!!"

"Bed was lumpy, terrible to sleep on. Doona on bed was stained & it didn't have a cover just a sheet over it, room smells, curtains dirty, hole in ceiling where fan used to be. Not worth the money we paid. We will never come back. Toni"

"We are currently staying here checking out on Sunday and this is not out first stay here, will never be staying again, the room has a ceiling fan that is missing and the hole hasnt been covered over or fan replaced as per pic, have asked multiple times for the foxtel to be fixed still hasn't been as per pic, the beds are very uncomfortable, no doona cover just sheets wrapped around the doona, when having a shower water runs out of the shower down and around the toilet as per pic. I rate this place a solid -4/10 would recommend no one ever stay here, if this had an option to give minus stars I would. We will be telling everyone one we know to avoid this place."
