The Scots College - Glengarry Campus

Welcome to The Scots College - Glengarry Campus, a unique institution located in the beautiful Kangaroo Valley of Australia. Our Glengarry Campus offers a six-month residential outdoor education program for Year 9 students, providing them with a transformative experience that accelerates their social, physical, and mental development. This program serves as a rite of passage, guiding young boys on their journey into manhood.

At Glengarry, we believe in the power of experiential learning, which is why we have designed our curriculum to immerse students in the natural environment. By challenging them physically, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and academically in the great outdoors, we aim to develop boys in a distinct manner that sets them apart as Scots boys.

Located just two hours southwest of Sydney, our campus in Kangaroo Valley offers a pristine learning environment with the highest level of accreditation from Outdoors NSW. We have implemented state-of-the-art safety and risk management procedures to ensure the well-being of our students. Here, boys learn valuable life skills and acquire the tools they need to grow into fine young men.

One of the highlights of the Glengarry experience is 'The Long Journey Home', introduced in 2012. This challenging hike of over 200 kilometers concludes the boys' time at Glengarry and takes them back to Bellevue Hill. Throughout this rite of passage, students engage in activities such as mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, and a ferry ride from Bundeena to Rose Bay.

The impact of the Glengarry experience stays with our students long after they leave our campus. Many of our Old Boys fondly recall their time at Scots as the highlight of their educational journey. It is an experience that shapes their lives and prepares them for the future.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Mr. Alan Elder, an esteemed member of our Scots family. Born in Scotland and migrating to Australia at a young age, Mr. Elder attended The Scots College and graduated in 1944. Throughout his life, he maintained a deep love for the College, especially the Pipes and Drums. Although he never married, his generous bequest allows us to remember him through the Lang Walker Business Centre.
