Elements Hair Studio and Cosmetica

"A really horrendous experience. I tried this salon for the first time on Thursday as I've recently moved to Geelong. I chose Elements as they are a self proclaimed blonde specialist salon. I had foils put in and when the bottom of my hair was washed out, I swept it forward to look at the colour and handfuls of my hair broke off in my hand. This happened multiple times. I asked the woman who did my hair to come and have a look and she sent the other hair dresser over who just responded with "I don't know" to my questions. Eventually I had to ask (insist) the original hairdresser to come and have a look as it definitely wasn't feeling right. She told me that it simply hadn't been fully washed out and since the bleach has opened the hair cuticle, if I pull on it, it will come out. This is probably a good time to add that I have had my hair dyed MANY times in my life and not once have I had this happen. As most people would, I know what is normal and what isn't when it comes to my own hair. Finally she washed out the rest of my hair as the top was still in foils and tried to tell me that it was all looking really great and felt super healthy. I've waited until now to write this review as I would never want to write a bad review that wasn't deserved. I wanted to go home and see how it came up over the next few days. As soon as I got it wet for the first time, it essentially turned to mush and the elasticity and breakage is out of control - An absolute telltale sign of over processing. A number of the hairdressers were sick on the day and some apparently had not cancelled their clients. As a result, people were coming in with appointments with stylists that weren't there, and the two that were there, were trying to accomodate everyone. I knew this because they were openly discussing the various mistakes that had happened with the booking system, over booking, and even accepting clients without first checking their name or who they were booked with. I'm pretty sure this is how my hair was ruined - No time keeping whatsoever, just a "oh, it's probably time to wash that out now I guess" Massive hair damage aside, there should be a level of professionalism when it comes to what and how things are discussed in front of clients, not to mention that people will understand if their appointment needs to be cancelled due to illness. I wish my appointment had been cancelled!!!"
