"Apple Box Flat is a small picnic area near the entrance to Yanununbeyan Park. There is a small parking area, a visitor information sign, and three picnic tables overlooking a grass covered meadow surrounded by native bushland. There are no toilet facilities at the picnic area. A very large Apple Box tree grows at the top end of the picnic area, right along the road. Camping is not allowed within 200m of Apple Box Flat. From the picnic area it is possible to walk through the forest up to the ridgeline to the west, then uphill to the top of Corner Hill, or down along the ridgetop to the Queanbeyan River. As far as I could tell, there are only animal tracks leading through the bush up to the ridge, but Corner Hill Firetrail is fairly easy to follow along the ridge."
