"I've been to the Scholar a few times in the distant past, but this was probably my first visit in 3 or 4 years. I've previously enjoyed their yum cha a lot! This was my first time in ages actually dining here. Service ok - good. Food and drink: Red wine - not my thing. Lobster dumplings - excellent! Hot, crispy and packed full of crustacean. ( Possibly not all lobster) Szechuan lamb - ok Boneless duck with orange - very good. Quite sweet but the tartness of the orange helps. It wasn't very busy when we visited, but it definitely deserves more customers. It could do with a makeover but the food is legit."
"Loved to have yumcha there, been there a few times. Loved how they served the food (they would push the trolley with food to your table). Some dishes like egg tarts, S&P white bait fish and siew mai are our favourites there."
"Average yumcha. Extremely busy on the weekend with a line forming from 11:30am. The portion sizes were smaller than other places and the dumplings were over-steamed. On the upside they had a decent menu selection and the manager was attentive and nice."
