Dr Dayajeewa's journey in the field of ophthalmology began at the prestigious University of Colombo in Sri Lanka, where he graduated with honors in the year 2000. He then completed his specialist training in Ophthalmology in Sri Lanka, acquiring both basic and advanced skills in the field by 2007.

Seeking to expand his knowledge and expertise, Dr Dayajeewa pursued further fellowship training in the United Kingdom, focusing on general ophthalmology. During this time, he gained valuable experience in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, and medical retina conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and uveitis.

After completing his training in the United Kingdom, Dr Dayajeewa returned to Sri Lanka, where he worked as a General Ophthalmologist in a regional hospital, providing comprehensive care to a remote community for almost three years. In 2013, he made the decision to migrate to Australia and joined the Canberra Hospital Eye Clinic as an Ophthalmologist. He currently serves as a Staff Specialist at the clinic and also contributes to teaching at the Australian National University (ANU).

Now, Dr Dayajeewa is excited to offer private consultations at his state-of-the-art rooms, the Canberra Vision Clinic, located at Suite 6 in The Calvary Clinic. Situated opposite the Emergency Department of the Calvary Hospital in Bruce, our clinic provides a convenient and accessible location for all your eye care needs.

Dr Dayajeewa holds Fellowships from the Sri Lankan College of Ophthalmologists (COSL), the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG), and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).
