Reviews
"prices were pretty high, but somewhat expected considering the coffee itself seemed to be pretty high end. i couldn't really taste the difference personally. the decor is very interesting inside however and the staff seem friendly, not exactly for me but if you looking for some nice coffee and a nice place to sit this will do the job"
"Amazing coffee, French toast with a side of fried chicken was delicious. Great vibe and decor"
"Highroad is a real gem of Canberra! The food is spectacular, and truly changes your perception of what a "basic" breakfast (think B&E roll) can be. It's also not overly expensive, so definitely worth the price. The coffee was perfect, and that was only with their standard in house blend, I'd like to come back and try some of the more creative options next time. I will say that the coffee cups left something to be desired compared with the rest of the tableware, but that's pretty minor. The serving staff were incredibly well trained and seemed to be going for a fine dining aesthetic, though the other staff weren't going for this at all, which made for an odd contrast. Personally I didn't feel the place needed to try to give a fine dining feel, as the building itself was beautifully decorated and the food and drink were far more impressive than a waiter standing or acting in a certain way. Highchairs were available, and there was plenty of seating inside and out."
"Top notch breakfast, one of the best in Canberra. Absolutely delicious food, and in a great area to boot. I had the mushroom brekkie, which was next-level delish and hubby enjoyed his bacon and egg roll. The barista told us "we do coffee differently" and my husband ranked it as excellent. It wasn't a hit for me (mocha not sweet), but I'm not a conneisseur. No kids menu, so we ended up getting a full adult meal for our 8 year old, which is a pricey morning out. I'm a little horrified that they charge a card surcharge, when they only accept cards. That's not a surcharge. Seems like a lame way to skim extra money. If it applies to everyone, just raise your prices. Inside and outside seating. Beautiful toilets!"
"Highroad is one of my favorite spots to bring friends from out of town for a yummy brunch with delicious coffee. The menu is always interesting and the food is pretty consistently good! Had brunch here over the weekend with some guests from overseas and Andrew who looked after us was really lovely! Super cool ambiance too. My only note is that the acoustics are a bit crummy and it can get quite loud so not great of you have a hard time hearing people! Other than that - love Highroad! Highly recommend!"
