About the Business

Welcome to Charlesworth Theatre, located in Bruce, Australian Capital Territory. As an establishment and point of interest, we are dedicated to providing a wide range of support services and resources for individuals, families, schools, teachers, sports organizations, coaches, officials, and the scientific and medical community.
For former AIS athletes and staff, as well as individuals across the National Institute Network, we offer the AIS Be Heard support service. This program aims to provide assistance and guidance to those who have been part of the AIS community. Additionally, our ASC Restorative Program is designed to support former AIS scholarship athletes who have experienced harm from inappropriate practices or abuse.
We are also proud to offer the Local Sporting Champions Grant, which provides grants for 12-18 year olds to cover costs associated with participating in eligible competitions. Our goal is to ensure that young individuals have the opportunity to engage in sports and develop their skills.
Inclusivity is a core value at Charlesworth Theatre, and we strive to create positive and inclusive experiences for everyone who wants to participate. Through our Inclusive Sport initiative, we aim to remove barriers and promote equal opportunities in sports.
Grants and funding opportunities are available for both individuals and sporting organizations through Sport Australia. We believe in supporting individuals and organizations in their pursuit of excellence and growth.
Physical literacy is a key aspect of living an active, healthy, and fulfilling lifestyle. At Charlesworth Theatre, we provide resources and information to help individuals understand the physical, psychological, cognitive, and social capabilities that contribute to physical literacy.
For schools and teachers, we offer AIS School Group visits, where students can enjoy a fun and active visit to the AIS, Australia's elite sporting precinct. We also provide support through the Sporting Schools program, which aims to increase children's participation in sports and connect them with community sporting opportunities.
Sports organizations can benefit from our Participation Design Toolkit, which supports organizations in delivering insight-driven and participant-centered plans, products, and experiences. We also provide resources and information on sport governance principles to ensure that organizations create positive and inclusive experiences for all.
Coaches and officials can enhance their skills through our Community Coaching - Essential Skills Course and Online Officiating Course. These courses are designed to create fun, safe, and inclusive environments for participants and assist officials in learning the basic skills to officiate effectively.
The Clearinghouse for Sport is our platform that provides high-quality information, research, and analysis about sport, human performance, and physical activity. It serves as a knowledge-sharing hub for the Australian sport community.
We are committed to the well-being of athletes and provide evidence-based information on Concussion in Sport. Athletes, parents, teachers, coaches, and medical practitioners can access resources and guidelines to ensure the safety and health of athletes.
As an institution, we are dedicated to leading and enabling a united and collaborative high-performance sport system. We support former AIS scholarship athletes who have experienced harm, provide free online essential skills courses for community coaches, and offer a variety of facilities at our AIS campus in Canberra, including an aquatic center and outdoor facilities.
At Charlesworth Theatre, we believe that sport has a place for everyone and delivers results that make Australia proud. We are committed to identifying, developing, attracting, and retaining world-class coaches, as well as innovating to provide customized technology and equipment for athletes.
We also recognize the importance of sport for girls, as it allows them to showcase different aspects of themselves, be part of a team, increase their confidence, and make lifelong friendships. Suncorp, our partner, supports every girl's endgame, understanding that each individual has unique goals and aspirations.
Finally, we acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Custodians of the lands where our offices are located and recognize the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to society and sport in Australia. We celebrate the power of sport to promote reconciliation and reduce inequality.
Join us at Charlesworth Theatre and be a part of the vibrant and inclusive sports community in Australia.
