"I had a consultation with Dr. Elsa, because of a 100 dollar misunderstanding she didn't want to see me. She is a psychiatrist and super unethical. She treats people with mental problems. Then she told the clinic that no psychiatrist would see me. I paid dearly for care, I don't have Medicare, the lack of professionalism made my depression worse. Just warning how the human being is bad. for 100 dollars the person does not want to answer you. because I didn't want to pay a fine for a service that didn't send an email confirmation and I forgot about the appointment, as it takes months to get an appointment. Greed for money or xenophobia? I don't know but it is unethical"
"I don’t have words to describe how poorly I was treated last night by the ER nurses. I was throwing up and crying because I was in so much pain, and they left me alone in a bed, shaking, freezing cold for 30 minutes. Then a nurse came in with a pain killer and I told her I wanted to see a doctor, that I felt really really bad. A while later another nurse came in telling me that I was being “rude” to the nurses and that if I continued this behavior there were not going to treat me. Again, I was alone, crying and having trouble breathing, and in so much pain. I told her I just wanted to see a doctor, and then another nurse came in and they both started to scream at me, saying that I was “lucky enough” they were treating me because they were people waiting for much longer than me….? I was also high for the pain killer they gave me, and they were treating me so bad I decided I wanted to leave. They proceeded to tell me, in a very ironic and laughing tone, that I had elevated white cells, so I shouldn’t leave. I say I don’t care, I’m not staying in this horrible place for one second longer. I then proceeded to call my roomate to come pick me up, I was crying so much I couldn’t speak, and while I was trying to stand up, the nurse came in and told me “ok I’m going to show you the way, so you can leave”. I told her I was waiting for someone, that I was feeling very bad and high, and she told me they couldn’t take care of me any longer because I wasn’t a patient. I understand being understaff, I understand if I went on a busy night. But the lack of empathy and human warmth was something that still brings tears to my eyes. In no moment anyone held my hand, told me to breath, offer me water, asked if I had someone that could come pick me up. They couldn’t care less, they just wanted me gone. It was truly truly AWFUL. I felt so alone and terrified."
"My family have all been well cared for at Robina Private Hospital. I was admitted in May 2023 for rehab on third floor and spent 3 weeks being cared for after I was struggling to get well physically and had severe pain and complex osteo arthritis in neck shoulder back knees and feet. I was unable to walk but left in june and was able to use crutches to mobilise and it was great fun with the OT and physio team. I reached all my goals and know this saved my life as i was deteriorating mentally and physically. Dr Jom Jiao admitted and helped me to return home with a referral to a psychiatrist, Dr Manfred Penzhorn. I was so happy to go home and come back in ro work on my mental health. I personally owe this whole hospital and all its staff for the recovery i have made and feel they have really gone the extra mile for me when many others had turned me away. I am feeling hopeful that the team really has the best therapeutic investment in my wellbeing and Ive been given referrals and help to manage my health care strategies as i am so clinically challenging. I have taken some photos im sharing of some of the staff and doctors. I know my care has been of the highest standard and it will be hard to beat this quality of service and the time spent educating me on how to navigate my own mental and physical priorities and manage my pain. The rooms are comfortable and the food has variety but is also close for uber eats if your a fussy eater like myself. Being a patient in mental health for 4 weeks and doing TMS with Dr Penzhorn has also given me daily psychiatric visits from him after his day clinic and when doing evening consultations. I feel so lucky to be here and whatever anyone else says, this hospital and its team are amazing. Ive had bulk billed care with 2 other psychiatrists at this hospital to help my GP with medications and for NDIS reports. They have all been very professional and always delivered compassionate care. It might be that everyone is the right fit but there is a great team here and id have to say the team i have is fabulous. Ive been introduced to Dr Chou who is a pain specialist and provided mri of my knees to look into future options with treatments and best clinical advice to make the right choices. Ive taken a bunch of pics but only have this one for now. I must say this place gives what you put into it and is person centred and im happy to recommend anyone stay here. Its the best care in a hospital ive ever had."
"Do not go here. In the beginning it seemed like great help, a place for my Father to get healthy. Sadly the Doctors really were lazy in diagnosing & treating the problem at hand. A few issues here. My father whilst staying here, he had gotten a bladder infection, when he came home being discharged we had to call the ambulance, turned out he needed a serious prostate surgery right away, wasn’t just a bladder infection. Dr Prashanti Veeramachaneni Didn’t catch my fathers life changing diagnosis, she thought he had depression but it took her over a year to figure out he had Frontal Dementia which he would’ve had creeping up for over a decade. He went back to Robina Private for rehab for 3 weeks because he was having trouble to walk & function normally. The physiotherapists said he was physically fine & nothing else to do & sent him home. I kept on telling them that he isn’t fine and he needs help but they said he didn’t need anymore help. He kept on declining & in a few months later he died. They never said that he was in such bad shape that he won’t be able to function at all soon, they said nothing of that sort. They absolutely should have & the fact they didn’t, shows this place didn’t pay attention to my father during the stay or they aren’t very educated. Dr Prashanti Veeramachaneni Would just get very impatient on his progress. My family expressed concern during a meeting with her but the Doctor was only concerned that my father wasn’t trying hard enough to improve from the classes he previously took and would only help him for a further 2 more weeks. She saw him as too much effort & she wanted to move on to a different patient treating him like a number that she wanted to get over & done with. People like this just aren’t cut out to be a doctor when lives are at stake. When he was always going to decline with Frontal Dementia nor did she tell our family that his Dementia was so severe he would further decline soon & be a vegetable. We did all the brain scans. I have sever trauma watching my father go this way & they could’ve done more, be honest & have a plan to help us of these fatal changes that will happen soon to prepare more smoothly & efficiently. After him being a patient for nearly 2 years, you would trust the doctors to do the right diagnosis of something this serious, his issue had nothing to do with mental health issues. With his kind of Frontal Dementia which I’ve learned it never gets better & only gets worse until the end. My Father passed away at Robina public hospital who weren’t accommodating in treating his fatal dementia either. Unfortunately My faith in doctors from this now is a below zero. Don’t have Dr Prashanti Veeramachanen as a doctor. I am not sure of the other doctors but I wish my father had the gold standard of health care & professionalism that he deserved."
"This place is a revolving door. It’s only the same patients in it 365 days of the year. It’s almost like they only half treat you so your always going back for help. After 3-4 admissions my Dr then refused to take me in as an inpatient in a crisis stage because he wasn’t receiving the $450 outpatient appointment fee every month. The food is shocking so be prepared to order Uber eats most lunch and dinners. The group therapy sessions haven’t been changed in years and it’s all on repeat and basic information you could google. The place is full of kids trying to be tiktok famous. Although this would have been a one star if it wasn’t for the nurses Jo, Jackie, Andrea and Kylie. It’s an ok hospital for your first admission. But if you feel you need more help it’s better to look at a different hospital."
