About the Business
Welcome to Puberty Plus, located in the vibrant city of Port Adelaide, South Australia. We are an establishment dedicated to providing health education and support for young people with autism and disabilities as they navigate the challenging journey of puberty.
Puberty can be a confusing and overwhelming time for everyone, but for individuals with autism, it can present unique challenges related to sensory issues, difficulty with change, transitions, and social norms. That's why we have created Puberty Plus Online, the digital version of our successful group programs, Well Girls and Being Boys, which have been running in our Adelaide-based pediatric Occupational Therapy clinic for the past four years.
Our program is designed to offer detailed information on various topics related to puberty, delivered in a practical and logical manner that is easy to understand. With 10 comprehensive sections, we cover all the essential aspects of puberty, breaking down the overwhelming amount of information into manageable chunks.
We understand that not all topics may be relevant to every individual, so our program allows you to skip the parts that are not applicable to your child's needs. Furthermore, we recognize and respect the diverse identities of our participants, including those who identify as trans, non-binary, or gender-questioning. Our program is gender-inclusive, providing understanding of how bodies of all genders are structured and function.
In addition to the informative content, Puberty Plus Online also includes several fun practical activities that may require adult assistance. These activities not only make learning engaging but also promote hands-on understanding of the concepts discussed in the program.
Accessible from anywhere in the world, Puberty Plus Online can be accessed through your PC, laptop, or tablet for a reasonable price of $A197. If you are a self or plan managed NDIS client, you may also be eligible for reimbursement of the program cost through the NDIS. Additionally, for those seeking extra support, our experienced Occupational Therapists or OT Assistants are available to provide weekly Zoom sessions to guide you through the program, which may be covered under your NDIS funding.
