Welcome to Le Souk, a unique institution located at Adelaide's vibrant Gouger Street. As a cafe, restaurant, and store, Le Souk offers a one-of-a-kind culinary experience that combines African cuisine with a range of international flavors.
At Le Souk, we not only prepare distinctive meals, but we also sell the range of spice blends that make our menu so unique. Take home a jar of our tried and tested spice blends, including Ras el Hanout, Charmoula, Baharat, Tajine, or Kefta Mix's. We also offer delicious samples of our Dukkah, Coriander salt, Preserved lemons, and our addictive Red Harissa. You can even purchase our spice blends online, ensuring you can recreate our flavors at home.
Start your day at Le Souk with our unique breakfast options, available all day. Try our version of Chakchouka, featuring sublime slow-cooked beef mince in Ras el Hanout with a poached egg, or indulge in our house-made Merguez spicy sausage, an Algerian classic. Our dishes are prepared with care, using our signature spice blends and 6-hour slow cooking to ensure maximum flavor.
We take pride in our cooking methods, using no oil or frying in our delicately spiced lamb and chicken dishes. Our couscous is steamed twice in the traditional couscoussier, resulting in a light and fluffy texture. Complete your meal with our freshly made Algerian salads, which are healthy and incredibly Moorish. You can also add them to your couscous for a vegan or vegetarian feast, or enjoy them as a side to share or takeaway.
