Avis Car Rental Brisbane Airport

"Rude lazy staff. Greeted with ‘Buddy’ on arrival. No customer service skills. No staff at the counter with four customers waiting. Then three staff turned up at the same time from the back room. When asked why the wait, excuse was that they have no staff was due to illness. As a punishment for questioning the wait, I got a small banger (Mitsubishi Mirage) for a car, despite Avis being paid for an intermediate size. This is not the first time. I have now asked the company I work for to change my future bookings to a different rental car provider. Interesting to see that others are also not impressed with the service at this place. Hence the rating of 3.6. Don’t book with Avis if you are going to Brisbane airport. I don’t have this issue anywhere else in the world with Avis."

"Daylight robbery, please don’t book with them and check your account as I am sure they have done it several times. I booked a car for rent to be picked up at 5.30pm. My flight landed at 6.10pm due to congestion on the Tarmac and I reached Avis at 6.30pm. There was a long queue due to which I got served at 19.00pm. I had already selected the reduce access on my online booking and baby seat. My bill was suppose to come to $456.00. The person on the counter says yep all is fine does not run through anything and provides me the car. The next day I get charged $554.00. I call Avis and they said they can’t see what extra I was. Barged for but will put me through to Brisbane Airport to checked. The calls get rerouted over and over again and 4 emails were sent to the airport for them to call me back with absolute to response. Finally someone from another call centre says the reason they charged you was for late pick up. I was shocked as and I asked the person if there was such a rule in their T&Cs as I book with Avis at least 6 to 8 times a year and have never seen such a charge like that to which he said he does not know where it is and was abrupt. I also told him the person by on the counter who served me also did not mention a thing of me being late. So far I have called them 5 times with no response from Brisbane Airport Avis and the last call centre person said to me that Avis Brisbane Airport does charge customers for incorrect amounts added to their customers and the call centre staff receive no support from the Brisbane Airport staff. It feels like they do this often in the hope that no one checks their credit card. If they are caught Avis Brisbane Airport don’t pick up their calls and re route it the call centre who can’t help. DON’T BOOK WITH THEM AND CHECK YOUR CHARGES. I am sure there would be many more like me."

"A few weeks ago we missed a domestic transfer and we needed to rush to catch a bus instead. The turnaround time was exceptionally tight but Steve made it happen! We were in the car super quickly and the service was great. Super friendly on return when I wasn't so pressed for time as well. Top notch crew unlike some other airport rentals I've come across."
