Welcome to the North Fitzroy Childcare Co-operative, affectionately known as 'Co-op', located in the heart of Fitzroy North on Clauscen Street. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to offer a unique community-run center dedicated to the care and education of children aged between 8 months and 5 years.
At Co-op, we prioritize building strong relationships with local families and providing exceptional early childhood care and education. With a small capacity of only 27 places, we ensure a warm, caring, safe, fun, and stimulating play-based learning environment for all children. Our dedicated educators tailor their care and attention to each child's age and stage of development, fostering their growth and nurturing their individuality.
We believe in the power of parental involvement, and we work closely with families to support every aspect of their child's learning and development. Through our secure online learning and development program, Storypark, families can actively participate by sharing ideas, knowledge, and aspirations with our educators. Together, we make informed decisions about future learning, with everyone's voice contributing to the pathways of each child's educational journey.
Beyond the classroom, we offer a diverse range of activities and events throughout the year. From engaging in Nature Play to our highly anticipated annual Trivia Night, there is always something exciting happening at Co-op.
Child safety is of paramount importance to us. We are committed to preventing child abuse and identifying risks early on. With robust human resources and recruitment practices, we strive to minimize the risk of child abuse by our board members, staff, and volunteers. Additionally, we regularly train and educate our team on child abuse risks, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children, including those from Aboriginal, culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and those with disabilities. Our specific policies and procedures support our commitment to their cultural safety and well-being.
