About the Business
Welcome to Redlands Shito Ryu Karate Dojo, a leading traditional karate institution located in Thornlands, Australia. Led by Shihan Garry Edwards - 6th Dan, our dojo is dedicated to teaching Japanese and Okinawan karate at the highest level.
At Redlands Karate Dojo, we offer a unique blend of Practical Self Defence, Personal Development, Fitness & Fun, Traditional and Sports Karate, and Kata applications. Our classes cater to both adults and juniors, providing a dynamic and engaging learning environment that focuses on technical excellence while ensuring that training is enjoyable.
Whether you are a seasoned martial artist or a beginner, our dojo is the perfect place to learn real karate for self defence and life skills. We welcome individuals of all skill levels and backgrounds to join our friendly community of like-minded people.
Our junior classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, catering to children aged 7 to 12 years old. Beginners, as well as those with white and yellow belts, can attend from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, while advanced students with orange to black belts train from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Parents and guardians are welcome to watch or even participate in the classes.
For our senior students, aged 12 and above, as well as advanced juniors, classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. We also extend a warm welcome to Sensei and students from other dojos and styles who would like to train with us.
