Tangalooma Eco Centre

Welcome to Tangalooma Eco Centre, located on the picturesque shores of Moreton Island in Queensland, Brisbane City. Surrounded by 98% national park, our establishment offers a unique and up-close experience of the wonderful world of Moreton Bay.

Established in 1994, the Eco Centre was created to support and manage the dolphin feeding program, and has since expanded to include Marine Education and Conservation programs. Our passionate team of Eco Rangers are dedicated to educating our guests about the importance of conservation and the protection of our natural wildlife.

What sets the Eco Centre apart from other facilities is its proximity to the environment, with endangered animals frequently passing by the shores. Dolphins, Dugongs, Whales, Turtles, Rays, Marine Birds and more can be seen daily, with guided educational talks provided by our knowledgeable Eco Rangers.

Whether you join one of our interactive Eco Walks, Tours, or Presentations, or simply stop by to chat with our Eco Rangers, you'll learn about Moreton Island's history and the abundance of wildlife that can be found on and around the island. Through this education, we hope to change attitudes and raise awareness about the environment, empowering individuals to make a difference.

The Eco Centre is located at the end of the Tangalooma Jetty, on the ground level of the Deep Blue Apartments. We are open daily from 10am - 12pm, and open for dolphin feeding registering between 1pm - 4pm.

In addition to our dolphin feeding program, we offer other unique experiences such as daily Kookaburra feeding and Australian Pelican feeding from the Tangalooma Jetty. You can also spend the day exploring all that Tangalooma has to offer before finishing off with the highlight of hand feeding our family of wild dolphins.

Please note that casual visitors to Moreton Island do not have access to the resort premises for the nightly dolphin viewing/feeding experience. Only guests who have booked official day trips and select overnight stays with Tangalooma Island Resort will be able to participate in the program. Access is dependent on dolphin attendance, weather conditions, and tides.
