At Waverley Paediatrics, we have a team of experts who work together to support the health and development of your child. Our multidisciplinary team includes a dedicated consultant paediatrician, psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and audiologists. With their combined expertise, we are able to assess and manage a wide range of behavioural and developmental conditions in children and adolescents.

We understand the importance of collaboration and communication in delivering the best possible care. That's why we work closely with families, general practitioners, and other paediatric specialists to ensure a holistic approach to your child's health. By providing expert assessment, support, and management, we strive to deliver the highest quality paediatric care to every patient and their family.

To ensure the best care for your child, a valid referral from a general practitioner is necessary to see our paediatrician. The initial referral is valid for 12 months for the specific patient and condition it was initiated for. It is the responsibility of the parents to obtain a valid referral for the consultation. Appointments can be made by emailing the GP referral to waverleypaediatrics@gmail.com. Please note that a GP referral is required prior to the consultation.

Our consultations are tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient. New appointments typically last around 80 minutes, while review appointments may be shorter, around 40 minutes. Prior to booking, an administration form will need to be filled out. We kindly request that you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time to ensure a smooth and timely consultation.

Payment for consultations is required on the same day, and we accept various payment methods. Please note that consultations under the DHHS or any other organizations may have different rates due to increased administration support. Urgent, second, or third opinions may also be subject to AMA consultation rates.

We understand the importance of affordability, and consultations are rebatable from Medicare if you have registered your bank details with them. Once you reach your threshold in a calendar year, Medicare will refund 80% or more of your out-of-pocket expenses. However, please note that Medicare no longer sends rebate cheques to patients.

For test results and prescriptions, we kindly ask that you make an appointment for consultation. We do not discuss test results over the phone or via email, and repeat or lost prescriptions cannot be obtained without an appointment. Charges may apply for these services.

Parking is limited onsite, but there is ample free parking available across the road from our consulting rooms on Springvale Rd for the first two hours. We recommend parking across the road for easier access.

He specializes in developmental and behavioural paediatrics and is a founder member of the Neuro and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australia. Dr Ameen works closely with our team and other healthcare providers to ensure the highest quality of care for your child.
