Effective from 1st February 2023, The Avenue Family Medical Clinic will transition into a Mixed Billing Practice. This means that some of our services may require a fee, while others will be bulk-billed. We believe that this change will allow us to continue delivering exceptional medical care while ensuring accessibility for all patients.
Our clinic operates from Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 1:30pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm. We understand that your health concerns may not always align with regular office hours, which is why we offer these extended hours to accommodate your needs.
At The Avenue Family Medical Clinic, we value the importance of a friendly and supportive environment. We are currently looking for a Vocationally registered GP to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. "The last 3 times I have waited over an hour for my BOOKED appointment. On the 4th time I called 30min early to find out if they are running behind and they told me no, your doctor is running on time. But guess what, I still waited 1hr 10min for my appointment. Receptionists are incredibly rude and blunt."
"The doctors are quite thorough and usually fairly on time. I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes to be seen and the appointment never feels rushed. The receptionists are lovely and always try their best to accommodate especially when our concerns are pressing and urgent. Everyone we have encountered here are kind, warm, and genuinely lovely people. So grateful we found a clinic that ticks all the boxes!"
"Used to be the clinic I visited since moved to this area many years ago but standard has sadly dropped in recent times. Changed to mix billing to bulk billing and one of the most expensive clinics in the area. Used to be 1-2 receptionists at the front counter but now its 3 at least and no wonder your overheads has gone up and charging customers extra for your overheads is not right. Level of service has dropped. Many other clinics in the area offering bulk billing and good service."
"I have been attending this clinic for 4 + years with myself and children. In the last 3 years my health has become more complex and I have needed a great deal of support to manage my condition. I have always found Dr Saru to be approachable, thorough and compassionate. Dr Saru really works thru the issues and makes accessing medical attention easier when so much of what I experience is complex."
"After Dr Amsa left this clinic in March 2023, my experience with other doctors has been very average. 1. You wait for a very long time to see a doctor as appointments NEVER run on time and to make it worse doctor whom you visit are always in a BIG RUSH to get you out showing no interest in what you have to say- You are just a number to claim money from medicare. 2. Reception staff has zero customer service skills and some of them even don't have correct mannerism to talk to patients. 3. Dr Saru - I would personally stay away from her after experiencing how she handles the situation. Overall, not worth the visit anymore after Dr Amsa (a great sensible doctor in my view) has left the clinic."
