South Coast Medical Centre is an independent family medical practice that has been serving the Mornington Peninsula for over 40 years. Our establishment provides consulting rooms for general practitioners, allied health professionals, and specialists. We are proud to be a fully accredited general practice, teaching institution, and university affiliated.
At South Coast Medical Centre, we prioritize the ongoing education and professional development of our medical practitioners. All of our independent doctors are vocationally registered and committed to staying up-to-date with the latest medical advancements. Since opening our doors in 1978 with just three doctors, we have expanded to offer consulting rooms at four locations across the Southern Mornington Peninsula.
Our locally owned centre is operated by five general practitioners, with a total of over 18 doctors consulting from our clinics. We believe in a team approach to healthcare, which is why our services include not only doctors and registered nursing staff, but also a diabetic educator, medical receptionists, and a range of allied health services such as dietitian, physiotherapy, podiatry, psychology, and MoleMap.

"This practice is only interested in making money. The receptionist was extremely rude. She sent us with our young child to wait in the car park as she had sore ears. This was because it would compromise other patients in the medical centre with her “illness”. Absolute disgrace. Then after seeing a much friendlier local medical centre, we did not have to wait in a car park. A quick look over and she was just fine. No contagious illness and no medication required. Bulk billed as well. Read the reviews regarding this centre.and don’t bother attending"
"Telephoned to make an appointment for a whooping cough immunisation making it clear to receptionist exactly what appointment was for even enquiring if they ran a immunisation clinic and a nurse could provide the service. I was told I needed to make an appointment with a doctor. $180 later (before Medicare rebate) I was taken back, especially given Chemist Warehouse offer this service for $30 and Terry White for $45. Clearly a huge mark up on the immunisation cost in addition to the consultation fee. Never again."

"I've been attending Sth Coast Medical in Rye for over 12 years now. I have, on every single visit, been treated by their reception and clinical staff with the utmost kindness and respect. I've found them at all times to be efficient and professional folk. I work in our emergency services (Fire/Rescue), and therefore understand the pressures such clinics find themselves in from time to time. Never the less, this clinic gets a 5-star rating from me for helpfulness, professionalism and their medical services expertise."
