At North Ryde Psychology, our goal is to provide quality mental health care to our clients. Our sessions are priced at $170 per session, and we offer a Medicare rebate of approximately $85 per session for up to ten sessions per calendar year with a referral from a GP. The initial referral allows for six sessions, and an additional four sessions can be authorized after a GP review.

We are also an approved provider for the ATAPS scheme (Access to Allied Psychological Services) in the Northern Sydney region. This scheme provides accessibility to psychological services for individuals in need. More information about the ATAPS scheme can be found on our website.

According to a survey conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics in 2007, approximately 20% of adults in Australia will either have a mental illness or have experienced one within the last 12 months. The survey focused on anxiety, mood disorders (such as depression and bipolar), and substance use disorders. Further breakdown of this 20% reveals that 11.3% of adults will have one mental illness, while 8.7% will have multiple disorders, commonly a combination of mood and anxiety disorders. Additionally, the survey found that 45% of adults had experienced mental illness at some point in their lives, highlighting the prevalence of mental health issues in our society.
