Welcome to Sunday Dhamma School, located in the serene Yarra Ranges Shire of Mount Evelyn, Victoria, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our school is dedicated to providing the best education and comfort for your children, while also nurturing their human qualities, good values, and habits.
At Sunday Dhamma School, we offer the younger members of the Buddhist community a unique opportunity to learn meditation techniques, cultivate good values, and spread loving kindness. Our aim is to help your child develop spiritually, cultivate a positive mind, and ultimately find everlasting happiness. All the facilities and resources at Sunday Dhamma School have been generously provided by the Mahamevnawa Monastery in Melbourne. We offer pure Dhamma education to our dearest children, with no cost attached. Our noble intention is to instill virtuous and upright individuals into society.
To create an upright and praiseworthy future generation, the Melbourne Mahamevnawa Monastery has designed a year-round program that focuses on developing great qualities and values in children. Through offerings, virtue, and meditation, our Dhamma education provides opportunities for children to develop generosity, loving-kindness, compassion, patience, and respect for parents and elders.
By attending Mahamevnawa Sunday Dhamma School, children not only gain valuable Dhamma education but also have the chance to collect merits in their lives, leading to a happy and peaceful existence. Throughout the year, we organize various religious activities, including the 'Sangika Dana' procession and participation in the United Nation Vesak Festival. Additionally, our children have rare opportunities to worship and respect the Sacred Buddha Relics, allowing them to reap further merits.
As a parent, you can also join our alms-giving ceremonies, Seela meditation programs, and pilgrimage programs on special occasions to collect merit alongside your child. Furthermore, the Mahamevnawa Monastery Melbourne provides opportunities for children to engage in community service, such as tree planting programs, Clean Up Australia Day activities, and donating essential items to families with disabled children at the 'Ronald McDonald House.'
